It’s time for another Likes and Loves where I share what we’ve been enjoying throughout the month. Even though we haven’t been venturing far with the current circumstances, I still like to document the little things that cheer us up. I think we could all do with that at the moment.
So without further ado, here are my likes and loves in July.
*Looking After Me
Now that I’ve just turned 40, I feel I should be making more effort to take care of my skin. I haven’t really had a skincare routine over the years so I’m really grateful for products like Lavera, that can help protect and keep my skin in healthy condition.
Lavera natural cosmetics offers organic skincare that contains 100% natural ingredients. The Sensitiv range is perfect for daily use on my skin. The all-round cream provides intensive moisture which leaves my skin feeling super soft! The cleansing gel leaves my face feeling really clean and fresh and my favourite of all is the Regenerating Night Cream. My skin has been so dry of late, but when I pop this on before bedtime, it soaks into my skin and I wake up with a really smooth and dewy complexion.
I’m really liking Lavera and will be continuing to use this as part of my routine.

*A Sweet Treat
Cake. Who doesn’t love cake? OGGS cakes make lovely elevenses treats along with a nice cup of tea! They are vegan-friendly and come in three yummy flavours -Victoria Sponge, Lemon Drizzle and Chocolate Fudge. Now that we can see more of the people we care about, these cakes are perfect to enjoy whilst catching up, or perhaps you prefer to hide them and have them all to yourself?!
Available at Sainsbury’s and Waitrose stores nationwide and online at TheVeganKind.

*Summer Scents
I do love to carry a pretty scented body spray in my bag. Especially on a hot day where you feel you need to freshen-up. I have used Impulse for years and they have some gorgeous fragrances. I’ve been enjoying the Instant Crush body spray and Tropical Beach + Expresso and Burnt Marshmallow + Leather Jacket body mists. I thought the body mists sounded a little random, but they do actually work and smell amazing. They always last all day long too.

Hooks!
I’m so glad that I learned to crochet when I did. I find it a great way to wind down and switch off from all of the busy goings on. I’ve made lots of these face scrubbies over the months. They are great for cleansing your face and are a much more eco-friendly alternative to cotton wool pads.

A New Lawn!
If you pop by regularly you will know that we only moved into our home just before Christmas. The gardens hadn’t really been tended to, so we decided to start from scratch. With the outdoor space looking like a builder’s yard for months, it was lovely to make a start on the lawn. I will be doing an update on that soon as we have some exciting plans!

*Looking Out For The Birds
We take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch each year and the boys are constantly on the lookout for birds on our walks. We used to have a huge variety of different species of birds at our old house, so we try to attract as much as we can here at the cottage too.
I always like to have bird feeders at the ready, brimming with treats and we have very kindly been sent a beautiful feeder to add to our collection from Henry Bell.

With that said, we do have quite a few rebels squirrels around here so this Heritage Squirrel Proof Seed Feeder will be ideal. Our feeder is a lot bigger than we expected, it can hold up to a whopping 275g of Seed Mix. I think it looks amazing and it is definitely built to last with its sturdy design.

What I love about Henry Bell, is that you can also buy your feed from there too, making it super convenient. Not to mention the money on postage saved from having to shop elsewhere for seed, suet balls etc.

*Fun Games
We have been playing these fun Shuffle card games from Cartamundi this month and having loads of fun in the process. The Paw Patrol game is a memory game where the aim of the game is to complete a set of three cards, a character, a piece of equipment for them and their badge. The Harry Potter is a four in one game which features snap, pairs, happy families and an action game. Both games are brilliant boredom busters and can be taken along on trips away for family fun.

*Refreshing Drinks
I’ve only recently been introduced to Nim’s. Nim’s air-dried infusions can be used in hot or cold drinks, including tea, water, mocktails and cocktails. Nim’s dried fruit slices rehydrate in liquid and add a pleasant flavour to the drink. There are a range of tasty flavours to choose from – lemon, lime, orange, ruby grapefruit, cucumber and kumquat.
Perfect to accompany your favourite tipple after a hot and sunny day.

What are your likes and loves for July?
You’re lucky to be able to test new products. Love the sound of your organic face cream. Your skin must love it. I’d love to have a bird feeder like yours too. Have a great day! #MMBC
I am rubbish at looking after my skin too. This looks like a great range. I do like the sound of the night cream.
Oggs cakes are so good.
I have been using that Crush Impulse spray. It’s lovely.
We have been feeding the birds too thanks to Henry Bell. I must have the best fed birds in North Lincolnshire. hehehe x
Those cakes look amazing! We have that Paw Patrol card game too 🙂 #mmbc
Fantastic post – I love reading what others have been loving and I can definitely agree with the importance of looking after yourself and definitely agree with the yumminess of cake too!
