I really enjoy documenting my likes and loves for the past month. With times as hard as these, I think it’s important to seek the little things that make us happy, no matter how small. We all need a bit of happiness, whether that be found in music, binge-watching Netflix or getting on zoom for good old knees up with friends.
Here is what cheered me up in December.
Birthday Celebrations
It’s my birthday on Christmas Eve so we have a double celebration with Christmas Day to follow. I had such a lovely day and Craig made me this beautiful cake. I also had two big bunches of flowers delivered and lots of lovely gifts and money to spend from friends and family. I was well and truly spoiled.
Board Games
We love getting the board games out in our house, although Craig is a little competitive! Craig had *Monopoly The Walking Dead for his birthday so we had a game. It was good fun, although my mum kept on buying the colours that everyone needed to complete their set!
Let It Snow
We had seen lots of people up north getting snow and my two boys were praying for it to snow where we are. Someone answered their prayers because we had snow showers for two days straight. It’s so pretty when it snows and of course, it means we get to have some snowball fights.
Dairy-free milkshakes
We are big fans of Shaken Udder and have featured them many times before. There is a new addition to the range, Shaken Other.
Shaken Other is a Dairy-Free alternative to milkshakes and is made from coconut milk. If you are wondering whether they taste as good as a traditional milkshake, well the answer is yes. My boys loved them and couldn’t really tell the difference.

Tasty Treats
It’s been ages since I had peanut butter so the other morning we popped some Jackpot peanut butter on our toast. Sourcing premium U.S. runner peanuts from cooperatives in Georgia and the Virginias for a naturally sweeter flavour, Jackpot original is an all-natural roasted peanut butter, a little salt and rapeseed oil, no sugar and absolutely no palm oil.
Based on an American recipe, the consistency of Jackpot is just right and it tastes amazing! Not only does it make a tasty snack, it can be used as cooking ingredients too.
Other flavours available are – Wasabi and Raspberry.
Thai Food
Preeya Choojan wanted to create the same tasty dishes that she enjoyed growing up in Thailand. As a result, Grab Thai Go was created to offer authentic Thai food to everyone. The meal kits come with everything you need except meat and veg.
There are also sauce kits to add to your own str-fry.
For every pack sold 1 Thai baht is donated to The Education for Development Foundation at www.edfthai.org/en.
Christmas Dinner
I can’t list my likes and loves for December without mentioning Christmas dinner. Craig played chef, as you can tell by his infamously large portions! Everything was fresh and sourced from our local farm shop and I can not express enough how amazing it tasted. We were all content with extremely full bellies afterwards.

We have had snow falling but not enough laying to make even one snowball. It looks so pretty with you.
We love peanut butter here but that one isn’t one I’ve heard of. The Wasabi one sounds interesting.

I found it interesting that the peanut butter is made from US peanuts. Wait a minute – I know they grow well in southern states here in US. I think they like hot weather. I’ve never been to the UK but I don’t have the impression that your summers are really hot – right? I’ll have to think on that. Anyway, the peanut butter sounds wonderful. It is great on toast. #MMBC
I rarely eat peanut butter but I do love it! Your birthday cake and dinner looks delicious. My boys and husband love to play Monopoly; I’ll play pretty much every other game but Monopoly. If I get roped into playing I am almost always the first one to go bankrupt.
