Pool 6 1

I honestly don’t know where June has gone. I feel like I say it every month, but time really does seem to speed up! We had a bit of everything this month, from a proper heatwave to quieter moments at home, and it’s been lovely finding joy in the little things along the way. So, here are a few of my favourites from June.

Reading

I’ve just finished Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell on Audible, and really enjoyed it. It’s one of those books where you keep telling yourself you’ll listen to “just one more chapter” before bed, only to realise it’s far later than you planned. I love a good thriller that keeps me guessing, and this one definitely did that. If you’re looking for your next page-turner, I’d definitely recommend giving it a go. Review coming soon!

Cooling Off

When the temperatures decided to soar, there was only one place to be… in the kids’ pool! And it was exactly what we all needed. There’s something quite lovely about embracing the simple things, and splashing around in the garden made those hot afternoons much more bearable.

Mr Freeze Party Pops

Talking of enjoying the simple things… One of my favourite things this month has to be Party Tip-Tops. Have you tried them? They’re so good and perfect for those red-hot days. I am easily pleased, what can I say!

Canyon Headphones

I’ve been using my Canyon headphones loads lately, especially when I’m cleaning the house or pottering around in the garden. Popping on a podcast or some music somehow makes even the most mundane jobs feel a bit more enjoyable. They’re comfortable to wear and have quickly become something I use every day.

Crochet

I’ve managed to fit in a bit more crochet this month, which always makes me happy. I finished making a little tractor for my youngest.

Taking One Day at a Time

One thing I’m especially grateful for this month is that Craig has been managing well following his CAV diagnosis. It’s been a lot to process, but he’s doing okay as long as he takes his time, and that’s something I’m incredibly thankful for.

Summer Steam Sale

The Summer Steam Sale has been dangerous for my wishlist! There are so many games I’ve had my eye on that have finally been discounted. Whether I actually have time to play them all is another matter, but it’s nice to add a few bargains to the collection.

Bluey Dance Mode

We were recently introduced to Bluey Dance Mode Game, and it’s been such a lovely addition to our games cupboard! We’re already massive Orchard Toys fans, so we were excited to give this one a go, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. My youngest has had so much fun with it!
Inspired by the Bluey TV show, you flip cards, act out silly actions, spin the spinner and race to collect the most cards. Whenever a Dance Mode card is revealed, everyone joins in for a little dance party, which always gets plenty of laughs! It’s quick to play, really easy for little ones to pick up, and such a fun way to get them up and moving. If you’ve got a Bluey fan at home, this is definitely one to add to your collection.

A Walk Around the Reservoir

One of my favourite moments this month was taking a steady walk around the reservoir. It reminded me how much I enjoy slowing down every now and then. Sometimes a nice walk and a bit of fresh air are exactly what you need when your mind is overly noisy.

Salads

With the warmer weather, we’ve been eating so many more salads, and I’ve been loving them. Crisp, fresh and easy to throw together, they’ve been the perfect meal during the heatwave. My favourites at the moment are Peach Salad, and Watermelon and Feta Salad.

How has your June been? I’d love to hear what’s been making you smile lately.
