Likes and Loves December 2025

Welcome back to another Likes and Loves, one of my favourite little monthly round-ups to write. These posts always feel like a pause button in the middle of busy family life, a chance to share the things that have genuinely made our days a bit easier, cosier, or brighter lately.

So, here are my likes and loves for December!

Vamoosh Wash & Dye

One product that’s been a surprisingly handy addition to my laundry routine recently is the Vamoosh Wash & Dye Black 350g dye. It’s ideal for my hubby’s black work clothes. This handy little sachet lets you refresh and deepen the colour of faded black garments straight in the washing machine without any complicated prep or salt-soaking. All you do is pop it in with dry clothes and run a normal wash at 40°C, and it revives those tired trousers and work shirts back to a rich, deep black again. Such a great little find!

Kingswood Green Garden Tool Set

One of my latest lovely finds for the garden is this 4-Piece Garden Tool Set from Kingswood Green. It’s been a small but mighty addition to my greenhouse. Designed with comfortable wooden handles and durable stainless-steel heads, this set includes all the essentials for everyday gardening tasks: a trowel, transplanter, fork and weeder.
I love how solid and well-balanced they feel in hand. They are sturdy enough for tougher soil but still nimble for delicate tasks like planting seedlings or tidying borders. With winter still lingering here, they’ve been perfect for prepping beds and pots without feeling bulky, and the classic design just makes them a pleasure to use. Christmas Family Time

We had a lovely Christmas with lots of laughter, and fun memories were made. It was a little bittersweet not having my uncle here and, of course, our Brucey, but they were in our thoughts and missed by us all.
Another amazing Christmas with my beautiful boys successfully ticked off!

Birthday

My birthday also snuck into this month’s Likes & Loves, and as it falls on Christmas Eve, it often gets a little lost in the festive chaos, booo! But this year I still had a really fab day, which felt like such a win. One of my absolute highlights was the most thoughtful birthday gift from my lovely friend Kim. She knows me so well. From the prettiest mini flower arrangement that now lives on my desk, to the most gorgeous candles that smell incredible, plus a sweet little matching notebook, too. It is one of those gifts that makes me smile every time I look at it, I’m so lucky to have such amazing friends.

Playing With Colour

I’ve also been thinking a lot about colour at home lately and doing a little decorating in 2026. I seem to be drawn to different shades for different moods. Softer neutrals in some spaces where I want things to feel calm and relaxed, and richer or more expressive colours elsewhere for a bit of personality. Making changes through fabrics feels like such an easy, low-commitment way to do this, whether that’s swapping cushions, adding a new throw, or updating curtains, and browsing Terrys Fabrics really highlights how much impact these small changes can have. It feels much more personal now, choosing colours that suit how you want a room to feel rather than following one single trend.

Cornflake Cakes!

My youngest had fun making some chocolate cornflake cakes. I remember these being my favourite dessert at infants school (many moons ago, now!).
So easy, but soooooooo good!

Candles

I love burning candles year-round, but come winter? It feels like an absolute must. There’s something about the gentle glow and soft fragrance that instantly brings all of the cosy vibes, and Vanilla Flurries does exactly that. Whether I’m sipping milky tea, curled up with a book, or watching the kids play, this candle sets the scene beautifully.

It’s become one of my little seasonal pleasures, a cosy, fragrant reminder to slow down and savour those simple moments.

Reading Lots

I also received a lovely Paperwhite 16GB Kindle this month, which feels funny considering I had one years ago and somehow drifted away from it. I’ll always be someone who loves the feel of a physical book. There’s nothing quite like turning real pages, but I’ve honestly been loving having a Kindle again.
It’s been especially great at bedtime, when I want to read without disturbing anyone, and I’ve found myself getting through so many more books because of it.

Winter Crochet Wreath

Another little project finished. This was my pastel gingerbread village wreath that I crocheted. I followed Natalie Beard’s lovely pattern and changed it a little. Also made a load of gloves and scarves for both gifts and donations, so not a bad month as far as my crochet game goes!
