It’s quite hard to believe that we are heading into May already, how did that happen?! April has been a good month, albeit with a few stressful appointments thrown in but in general it’s been quite pleasant. If you’re new here, my likes and loves is a way that I document what we have enjoyed from the previous month. It’s a nice way to appreciate the little things and also a fab way to discover new products to try out too.
You can check out last month’s Likes and Loves for our March favourites.
With that said, here is what we’ve been enjoying in April!

*Lovely Home Fragrances

I love burning wax melts and candles at home. They just make the house feel super cosy.
I recently discovered Ava May Aromas and they are such a lovely brand. They offer all kinds of amazing home fragrances, wax melts, candles, burners, reed diffusers, aroma oils and much more!
I have been burning their gorgeous Baby Powder wax melts and the Fairy Soft Single Wax Disc and my house smells absolutely amazing! They are both my new favourites for sure.
Infact, I had a friend over the other day for a catch-up and she couldn’t get over how lovely the scents were. She liked them so much, she is going to order some goodies for herself!
And just look at how cute my teapot wax burner is! I love it.
I am so happy to have found a new go-to place for my ever-growing collection of wax melts and candles. I highly recommend popping by Ava May Aromas’ website for a browse, you will not regret it!

*Buckwheat Tea

I love my tea and can get through quite a few mugs throughout the day! One tea (well, not actually tea) I had never heard of was Buckwheat tea.
Buckwheat tea, also known as Soba-cha in Japan, Memil-cha in Korea, and Kuqiao-cha in China, and can be enjoyed hot or cold. It is made of roasted Buckwheat and kernels.
The benefits of Buckwheat tea are –

  • No caffeine
  • Gluten-free
  • Sugar-free
  • Calming and soothing
  • High in nutrients and antioxidants
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Aids with digestion and weight loss

It is said to be a deliciously smooth, flavoursome, and subtly nutty-flavoured tea and I agree it does. It has a distinctive nutty smell but doesn’t have a pungent taste, it is quite mild.
I really enjoy it and I’m yet to try it cold with perhaps a bit of lemon.
This Buckwheat Tea costs £9.99 for a pack of 15 teabags. Although this may sound quite expensive, I would say this tea is ideal as a treat. And there is the fact that you can use each teabag 3 times, making it better value in the long run.

Spring Blossoms

I always look forward to seeing the pretty blossom at the front of our house each spring. It’s just a shame that the UK weather is almost always wet and windy when it starts to bloom! And blows it all off in no time. It’s beautiful while it lasts though.

*Pretty Flowers

Nothing brightens up a home more than a bouquet of pretty flowers. I love fresh flowers in my home and recently received a colourful spring bouquet from eflorist.
Eflorist has an extensive range of bouquets to suit all budgets.
I received the Sweet Spring bouquet. This includes a mix of pink and orange germini, spray chrysanthemums and complemented by a cerise rose. I love the colour combinations and it is instantly evident that they are good strong flowers.
They are delivered by courier with tracking and are packaged well for transit.
I think they would make a lovely gift to send to someone, perhaps for birthdays and anniversaries or even just to cheer up someone’s day!

End Of Our First Unit At Uni

We have come to the end of our first unit at uni and it has been so interesting! I’ve been reading a book a week along with all the research for the weekly seminar questions. It’s been tough at times but it’s pushed me out of my comfort zone and I’ve learned so much in such a short time. I’m now halfway through my essay which is to be submitted shortly!
Then it’s onto the one-to-one writing workshop. Excited and nervous in equal measures.

  1. Can I kindly recommend you try Barley tea? It’s also caffeine free, sugar free but sadly not gluten free. Saying that, it is suppose to aid digestion, help circulation, reduces inflammation and promotes sleep due to the combination of amino acids, melatonin, and tryptophan
