Likes And Loves March 2023

Sheep and lambs at our house scaled

It’s been a busy few weeks here so I’m only just getting around to our March Likes and Loves round-up! If you’re new here, my likes and loves is a way that I document what we have enjoyed from the previous month. It’s a nice way to appreciate the little things and also a fab way to discover new products to try out too.
We were all struck with covid in March so it’s been pretty rough, giving me more reasons to appreciate the little likes and loves of the month!
So with that said…here are our likes and loves for March.

Skincare

I have been using Palmer’s skincare for quite some time now. I love all of their range but my absolute favourite has to be the Cocoa Butter Formula.
I love to smother myself in the Daily skin therapy after I’ve had a shower as that is when my skin is at its dryest. Soaps really dehydrate my skin so applying Palmer’s feels so refreshing! And I get intermittent whiffs of chocolate as I go about my day! Hehe, it smells amazing.
I’m also a fan of the Palmer’s solid balm. It feels like wax to the touch but it is fantastic for severely dry skin like rough working hands or hard skin on your feet. It really soothes and hydrates.

*Colouring

My kids love colouring, I love colouring, I don’t think it matters what age you are it’s a very therapeutic pastime isn’t it?!
My youngest loves his colouring books and I’m regularly printing off colouring sheets for him too. We already have quite a lot of Crayola products but the Crayola Colours of Kindness range is lovely. Each pencil, crayon and marker has an inspirational quote on which I think is a fab idea and the pastel shades are beautiful too!

*Gaming

We are a family of gamers so we are super excited when we get the chance to try out new releases. Joben loves to play on his Switch and he has quite a varied love of games. He likes racing games, games with a lot of video footage as he finds them visually stimulating and platform games as long as they aren’t too complex.
We’ve kindly been sent the brand new Peppa Pig World Adventures by Outright Games to try out.
I love how interactive the Peppa Pig games are. Little ones can choose their favourite characters and customise their features and outfits. There is even more opportunity to customise in Peppa Pig World Adventures, including designing and building your own house in the neighbourhood. The player also gets to fly, sail and drive around different locations across the world!
It really is such a lovely game to play and I can see it being very popular with Peppa Pig fans out there.

*Vista Print

I have quite a few birthdays to buy for in the upcoming months and I think personalised gifts are that little more special as there is a lot of thought that goes into creating one.
Vista Print has so many lovely personalised gift ideas, they have a little something for everyone.
I recently received some of their personalised range and I was over the moon with the finished products. The personalised pens are so inexpensive but are really high quality! I have also had personalised calendars previously from Vista Print and I have always been super impressed with how they look.
The one product I was a little nervous about ordering was the bath mat. Only because I was a little concerned that the print quality may be a little blurred with the nature of the sublimation material that is used.
I needn’t have worried though because the image was clear and vibrant so now I can look at my favourite beach while sat in the bath hehe!

Putting My Essay Together For Uni

I still find it surreal that at the young age of 43 I have pushed myself to the limits and chased my dreams to study a Master’s degree in creative writing. I am absolutely loving my course so far! I am currently working on my first essay which is due to be assessed at the start of May eeek! I have decided to go with ‘The evolution and analysis of cartography in children’s literature’. Wish me luck, I’m going to need it!

*Craft Supplies

If you pop by often then you will know I like crafts. You can never have too much pretty craft paper in your stash! And these 1893 crafts 12 x 12 paper packs from Ryman are a lovely addition to my collection. They are perfect for spring/summer crafts, card making and so on. I also love the super cute ladybird and bumble bee embellishments.
Be sure to check out Ryman for more fab craft supplies.

Getting out after Covid

After years of dodging Covid, it finally caught up with us. It has been a long couple of weeks recovering but we are all thankful to be on the mend now and getting back into our routines.
A simple thing like going for a walk has never brought me so much joy after being couped up in the house. I had lots of lovely company along the way too!

*Mash Direct

I have recently discovered the lovely brand Mash Direct. They are a family-run business that offer over 50 vegetable dishes to supermarkets and stores across the UK.
Their lovely range of potato products include fries, mash and roast potatoes. They also do salad pots and root vegetables. We have tried the balsamic potatoes and peri peri fries which were nice, although a little spicy for our taste. Just pop them in the oven for 20 minutes. We cooked ours in the air fryer and they were lovely and crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Yummy!

I love that Palmers cream. I always have a bottle of it in the bathroom.
I have never used Vista Print before. They sound fantastic. The bathmat is brilliant, I haven’t seen a personalised bathmat before.
Good luck with your essay. x

  2. Sorry to hear about you catching Covid. I hope you’re all better now too. I heard the long term effects can be nasty like fatigue and headaches etc. I hope you’re not getting them. Must be hard completing a uni course whilst all that happened too but I believe if you’re doing a course you enjoy, you’re going to do great. Good luck nevertheless.

  3. All the best with your Master’s degree and the essay you are working on! The photo of the sheep and those green pastures. Wow, such beautiful views!
