With the Summer months upon us, more of us are packing up the car and heading off on road trips with the family. Just recently, Chill Insurance have been creating a fab Ebook all about their favourite drives for families. I don’t know about you, but I think far too often we actually miss the stunning surroundings around us when we are on the road. Whether it’s being too busy stressing over the fact you may have forgotten something, stuck in traffic or doing a contortionist act to reach in the back of the car to get that dropped toy, we’ve all been there.
Our Favourite Family Drive
When asked what our favourite drive is, it had to be driving through Snowdonia National Park on our way to North Wales. I have often stopped several times to grab the opportunity for the perfect capture on my DSLR. The views are just beautiful, here are two of my favourite snaps…
It’s a fab drive and so handy to pull over for a break. Have a snack with the kids get a few pictures (bloggers prerogative) before heading back on our journey. I’d much rather routes like this any day than built up areas full of traffic and never ending traffic lights. It makes the drive more pleasurable and of course I get ample opportunities to get some good Instagram snaps.
So when you are planning your next road trip, why not take the scenic route? Pack a picnic for when you fancy a break and enjoy the awesome views. Most importantly before you set off, don’t forget to get your car covered with Insurance from Chill or with another reputable Insurance provider. A breakdown is never expected and you may just end up camping over night with the sheep otherwise!

I really regret not learning to drive. I’d love to go on road trips.
To be honest I’m not a massive fan of driving, I do it for practicality and not for pleasure so usually someone else drives but I do love the drive down to the South Coast x

I do love a good road trip and the UK has to be one of the best places in the world to do just that to enjoy the great British summer!
My hubby and I used to take his motorbike to North Wales every May Bank Holiday before BattleKid came along and the routes in and around Snowdonia became our favourite. We love it up there and are looking forward to bring our son when he’s a little older, albeit in a car!
I love snake pass on the way over to Manchester! And here where I live in Paris, I love driving from Neuilly to the Arc de Triomphe roundabout..down the champs Elysee and to place de la Concorde. thrilling as Parisian drivers are a law unto themselves! Kate http://www.fivelittlestars.com
What beautiful landscape! We really enjoyed our drive around the North of Iceland, on our honeymoon.
That first photo is perfect and the others take me along on your road trip. Crisp and loving sheep photo, adorable. My favorite drive is heading toward the Mississippi River taking one of two routes. I really want to do the river drive they have mapped out but it would involve staying in a motel or two, maybe someday.
I’m hoping to go on lots of road trips over the summer holidays. I’ve actually never been to snowdonia. Shameful seeing as i live in wales x

My husband is still doing his driving lessons at the moment but I really can’t wait to do a road trip together. Sometimes I do want to drive around the island of Isle of Wight because last time we on a bus tour, it was stunning
