Every year I find myself questioning where did the time go?
Another birthday for my baby boy, another year that the grasp of our holding hands loosen as you slowly grow up to find your own way in this life. But for now I am holding on. Holding on tight to that little hand of yours, I am enjoying the endless supply of cuddles you give. The giggles we share when we gang up on Daddy and tickle him!
Rainy day crafts. Sitting together and making something random. You are very creative and artistic. I loved art at school and crafts is a big hobby of mine. Perhaps you take after me a little with this.
The random chats we have, and they are plentiful. You see you like to talk, quite a lot! I sometimes feel that my name ‘mummy’ is going to wear out sometime soon! But I don’t mind really, as it means you want to be in my company so much. One day it might not be so cool, so for now I’m going to embrace your lovely chatterbox ways.
The walks we go on together. You do love exploring. You appreciate all the little things in life. You pause for a while and absorb all of the sights around you. It really is quite magical to watch. That’s a beautiful quality you have, never lose it.
You see, I am making the most of every precious moment I spend with you my handsome little boy. Every day I wake up, I feel so blessed that you are in my life, that you are mine for keeps. One day you will be all grown up and winning everybody over with your lovable cheeky charm, just like you win my heart every single day. Thank you for making my life so special.

I think this all the time. My eldest is just doing his GCSE’s, it only feels like I was doing mine a few years again when it’s actually over 20! They do grow up so fast, the time just flies by. Happy birthday!
Birthdays are big reminders of so many emotions. My little one was 10 this year and it felt like such a big marker of time.x
