This week reminds me of those bags of Rowntree’s randoms sweets. You know the ones where you pop your hand in the bag and you don’t know what you are going to get next. The days have been as unpredictable and just as random as those.
Visitor
At the start of the week we had an unannounced visitor. As I was sitting at my desk working, I took a sip of my cup of tea and enjoyed the view of the canal as I normally do, when the cutest little Shih Tzu was looking back at me. I opened the front door and she came straight to us. Such a friendly little girl. Thankfully, she had a name tag with a contact number on her collar. It turned out she went on an adventure from one of the moored up narrowboats further up the canal.
She was soon reunited back with her owner, who was over the moon to have her back safely.
Cheese
We are all cheese lovers in our house, but I underestimated just how much! This week my youngest decided he wanted a bit of an afternoon snack and took a bite out of the cheese. Never has he done this before, but I have to admit I could not stop laughing at the fact there were teeth marks in my block of cheese. Kids are so random.
In the cut
We’re still enjoying our regular evening walks. It’s just that little bit quieter and we get the canal pretty much to ourselves at night, well apart from the odd boater.
We were making our way back home and our house was just insight. The eldest was discussing some strategy in Fortnite and how cool the new outfit was that he recently bought for his character. Youngest was just happy to be outside, holding my hand and singing one of his favourite songs, when Annie (daft dog) decided to go for a swim. When she finally got out, she had transformed from a golden labrador to a black one. I would have taken a photo if the lighting had been better, but I kid you not, she was blooming filthy! So when we got back home it was shower time for said crazy dog.

hahaha! The bite out of the cheese did make me chuckle. It used to be apples here. The girls would take a bite out of an apple when they were little then put it back in the fruit bowl.
Annie does sound a little bit crazy but a lot of fun. x

I used to be the same with cheese as a child. Loved the stuff! Lol
I’m glad you found the dog’s owner, what a cutie. It does seem like you’ve had a random week. I miss our walks along the canal, we live next to one too, but ours is the other side of the trees. To get to it we have to go down steps which is no longer possible for me anymore. We used to do the school run along the canal when my three were all in the same primary school.
I quite like the unexpected days, it gives a bit of variety 😊

Ha! Annie knows how to time it just right. I wonder if she’ll do it again. Your walks sound lovely, and I can well imagine the Fortnight conversation. The cheese made me laugh. I can’t remember my lot doing anything like that, but I’ve probably blotted it out of my memory. I’m glad you managed to reunite the dog with its owner. Its an awful feeling when they disappear like that. #wotw
How wonderful to be so close to a canal, I would have loved to see a picture of Annie after her swim :o)

Glad that you were able to return the Shih Tzu to her owner. The teeth marks in the block of cheese made me chuckle. How lovely to enjoy evening walks along the canal although a very mucky dog is not quite so lovely! #WotW
