This week’s word is pestered because, honestly, it’s been one of those weeks.
Heatwave Woes
First off, this heatwave has been relentless. I know some people love the scorching sun, but I am not one of them. I love summer and blue sunny skies, but muggy, sticky heat that clings to you all night long? No, thanks. I’ve felt like I’ve been melting into the sofa every evening.
We’ve lived on ice-lollies all week whilst hogging every fan in the house and still somehow it never feels cool enough.
The one thing I am grateful for, is that we have tiled floors throughout most of the house, apart from the bedrooms, so that feels nice and cool.
It’s made everyone feel grumpy and pestered, me included!

Migraine Misery
Of course, the heat wasn’t enough on its own, I ended up with a migraine that knocked me sideways for a day. It’s always the way, isn’t it? When you’re already feeling a little run-down, something else decides to join in and pester you even more.
Fruity Barney
Our Barney has just turned two and is at that stage where he likes the girlies. We think he smelled a bitch in season on our walk the other day, and he has pestered all week!
My mum popped over for a visit and said Barney was being ‘fruity’ (her words) with Bruce. I think this has to be the highlight of my week! Fruity though, really?! Hehe.

Unwelcome Guests
As if that wasn’t enough, we found another wasp nest this week and a hornet nest by our front door, just for good measure. I guess they are very happy with the plentiful supply of bugs around here in the fields.
Just One of Those Weeks
So yes, pestered sums it up perfectly. Pestered by the heat, pestered by headaches, pestered by buzzing pests that refuse to go away. Some weeks are just like that, aren’t they?
How was your week?
I’m linking up with Anne’s Word of the Week. Pop over if you fancy seeing what words have summed up everyone else’s week, too.

Aww I’m so sorry you have been pestered so much, especially by the wasps nests and the migraine. Just not what you need when it’s hot. Ice lollies help a lot. I did have to laugh at Barney though, the little pest 🙂
I am sick of the heat, it is a bit cooler today but I can feel it warming up again now. Ugh!
Oh no! Migraines are the worst! I had a stonking headache one evening midweek, not a migraine but it was annoying. I blamed the weather.
hahaha! Fruity is something my dad would say, that did make me chuckle.
Oh no to the wasp and hornets nests! I still have bad memories from the one we had a couple of years ago. They are awful things! I hope you get it sorted soon. x
I’m sorry the heat is pestering you. Migraines are awful; I hope you feel better this week! #MMBC
Sorry about your migraine – that sounds really horrible 🙁 Heatwaves are so rough, it is easier to get warm than it is to cool down, right?
“Pestered” is such a great word! I’m so sorry you had so many instances of feeling that way this past week, but it captures the feeling of being annoyed perfectly (plus I’ve always loved saying it and not everyone has heard it before). I also am not a fan of heat and humidity (my husband loves it) – UGH! And, I remember how my headaches would spike during humid weather bouts. Surprisingly, when I went through menopause, almost all of my horrible headaches stopped! Hormones! I hope you are able to stay cool this coming week!
Oh that is not a good word of the week– I mean, yes that sums up your week rather well, but what a bummer actually BEING pestered! I hope it cools down soon.
Sorry to hear about the migraine, Jayne. It was most likely related to the heat and feeling generally rubbish from that.
I’m not a fan of heatwaves; it’s too much for us. Nobody can sleep well, and everything feels like too much effort. I’ve taken up the rug in the living room for summer so Indie has somewhere cool to lie.
Fruity made me laugh, poor Barney, he must be feeling frustrated.
I hope this week is a much cooler and better one for you x
I am not a fan of muggy, sticky weather either, it made me feel headachey but fortunately not a migraine. I did chuckle at Barney though.. poor Bruce!
I love summer and sunshine but muggy sticky heat is not much fun. How lovely to have nice cool tiled floors. Sorry to hear that you’ve had a migraine and hope you are feeling better again now. Barney being ‘fruity’ with Bruce made me chuckle although I’m sure it probably wasn’t much fun for poor Bruce. Not nice to find a wasp nest and a hornet nest – hope you’re not being pestered too much with the unwelcome guests. #WotW
I think pestered would have summed up my week as well in the countdown to the summer holidays!
Pestered is a great choice of word
The heat is deliberating for all
