I enjoy noting our Likes and Loves from the previous month, but even more so now the times are tougher and we need a little cheer to get us through each day.
It’s times like these where it is really nice to appreciate the little things and pull some positives from the weeks going by.
With that said, here is what we have liked and loved in January.
Cooking
With the colder spells we have been having lately I’ve been cooking more warming meals. This easy chicken and mushroom pie only takes 30 minutes from start to finish and even the pastry is ready-made! Making this a convenient midweek dinner. Winner winner chicken dinner.
Snow Play
We’ve had more snow so of course, it had to be included in our likes and loves. The boys have enjoyed making more snowmen, having snowball fights and Annie has loved it just as much too!
*Getting Down The Ironing Pile In Style!
Now I know a lot of people don’t like ironing but I really don’t mind it. I find it quite therapeutic because you can shut off from the daily chaos and get on with the job in hand. I normally listen to a podcast or play some Youtube videos whilst I iron along so I get down the pile in no time.

*Jigsaw Fun
My two have always loved doing puzzles, but we have been enjoying them considerably more since the lockdowns. The World of Animals Observation Puzzle is for 5+ years and has 80 pieces. It’s a lovely puzzle to put together and once finished it has a border with various animals on. Children can then play ‘find and seek’ and identify the different animals around the globe.
It’s fab for developing fine motor skills, accuracy, memory and observation skills.
Exploring Wildlife With Learning Resources
My youngest has been having a blast with the GeoSafari Talking Wildlife Camera. As you may know, Joben is autistic so when we find something that really grabs his attention and fully engages him, it really does mean the world to us. The GeoSafari camera is such a lovely educational toy. Little ones are taken on a journey around the globe learning about wildlife with the lovely Robert Irwin as their tour guide. It really is brilliant and I do hope to see more interactive products added to this range.

Good list this week. Love the chicken pot pie – yum! Jig saw puzzles are a winner too. I like looking at snow rather than being in it. I have to admit I hate ironing – want to come over and iron a little? #MMBC
