Our evening walk with Annie

*Disclosure –Some of the products featured are press samples and I will give the brand a little mention. These will be clearly marked with *.

Another month over just like that! I must admit though, as we head into autumn it makes me smile. I love this season so much. We’ve had the stoves and open fire burning the past few nights, so cosy!
Without further ado, here is our Likes and Loves for August.

*Klikbots

Jayden has had so much fun playing with the new Klikbots. He has quite a collection of the Stikbot range so he’s already a big fan of animation type toys.

Klikbots are collectable action figures that have interchangeable pieces and articulated limbs, making them super flexible to pose for stop motion animation.  We downloaded the free Stikbot Studio app and we were making fun little videos in no time.

They are fab little playsets and really encourage kids to get creative and use their imagination.

Evening Walks

We’ve had some really nice evening walks. It’s a lot quieter come evening so we don’t have to worry too much about overcrowded canal towpaths!
I can’t wait for the autumn to come now and capture the rustic colours on camera. Autumn is one of my favourite seasons.

*A Cocoa Treat For My Skin

I said in a previous post how I am trying to be more kind to my skin and stick to a skincare routine. Having never bothered really in previous years and my skin can get so dry at the best of times! Recently turning 40 has given me more motivation to look after my skin and give it the nourishment that it needs.
I very kindly received a beautiful skincare bundle from Palmer’s and I am beyond impressed!

Palmer's cocoa butter formula skincare range

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion – This feels really rich and creamy against your skin. The fragrance is out of this world! My skin felt silky smooth after just one use.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Body Oil – I love applying this to my legs. It’s ideal for softening dry skin especially after shaving. It absorbs really quickly too so you don’t get any oily residue on your clothes.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm – I haven’t tried the lip balm as yet, but I know this will come in handy as the colder months approach us.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Hand Cream – My hands are always dry come the autumnal months so this 24-hour moisture hand cream will help protect my hands in the cold weather.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic Scrub & Moisturizer –  I’m a mum, I’ve always got tired feet!  I’m a big fan of foot creams and this one leaves my feet super soft and the peppermint oil really soothes them.
The scrub is really good too and polishes rough dry skin.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Original Solid Bar has 101 uses and is made using ethically sourced cocoa butter and natural vitamin E. This one is new to me and I love it!
It smoothes scars, it’s suitable for eczema-prone skin, it’s paraben & phthalate-free and just all-around awesome.
Available from Boots, Superdrug, Wilko and many more great stores.

Water Fights

Cooling down during the heatwave with some bunch o’ balloons was fab. They are so much fun and the best thing about these is the balloons are biodegradable so much greener than the original water balloons we used to play with as kids.

*A Lovely Eco-Friendly Brand from Provence!

As a family, we are trying to cut down on the amount of plastic that we bring into our homes. So I was so excited to have discovered Balade en Provence, a wonderful family-run business in Provence that makes eco-friendly beauty bars for the hair, face and body.
The beauty bars smell absolutely amazing, contain only natural ingredients and are of course, vegan-friendly.
Their service is amazing with super quick delivery and plastic-free packaging.
Perfect for Christmas gifting!

Birthday celebrations

Craig joined the 40 club last week and we had such fun celebrating. I managed to get almost 40 presents for 40 which is harder than you think, making sure that thought goes into each one.
We are obviously still being careful with who we met up with and we had mum and her partner over which was so nice. Craig had lots of lovely gifts and said he had such a wonderful day. He even got three birthday cakes! I think we did a good job of making memories to remember his milestone birthday.

Domino’s Treat

We do love a Domino’s treat. We were really surprised that they would deliver here as we are more out in the sticks here than our old house! Not that we are complaining, the kids love a pizza and movie night.

  1. Those Klikbots look like a lot of fun.
I bet the walks near you are amazing, down the canal towpaths.
Ahh! The bunch o’balloons are such fun. My girls are always asking for more when the weather is hot.
It sounds like Craig had a good birthday. Well done with the presents.
You are luckier than us, Domino’s doesn’t deliver here. I really miss their pizza’s, ohh & the chicken strips!

  2. Mmmm your Domino’s looks yummy! (I’m starving! LOL) I’ve really got into watching YouTube this month. I used to watch all my faves religiously and then sort of fell out of love with it (No idea why!) But I’m really enjoying ctaching up with my favourite YouTubers again!

  3. I forgot about Palmers. They’ve been around for ages, I think. I can smell it. A few years back we were looking for an animation studio for my step-son. There are lots to choos from. The Klik boys look fun.
