I must admit I love gardening, although I don’t claim to be any kind of professional, infact far from it, but I really do enjoy it. There’s nothing better than headphones on, press play on my track list and spend a few hours in the garden. I haven’t done half as much as I do most years, as being diagnosed with pulmonary sarcoidosis this year stopped me in my tracks for a while.
Here is a little peep around the garden and what I have been growing at the mo!
I got these big planters last year and they are ideal for holding loads of bedding plants.
Then I have the pots along the side of the house with a good mixture. Verbena, Salvia, Moss rose, gerberas, geraniums and nemesia. And as you can just make out the circles cropped out in the lawn have the same flowers also.
Verbena’s out in bloom.
Moss rose. I love this, it’s so pretty. I’ve dead headed it recently and new flowers are coming out. It gives constant colour all through the summer.
Love the scarlet red shade of salvia.
My lupins. I never had much of a show last year because blooming aphids ate them alive. Made sure they buggered off this year!
Zinnia.
Bacopa Cordata mix, simple but stunning.
Some stray asters that have attached themselves to the wall of the house.
The chimney pot full of lobelia, petunia and nemesia.
Fuchsias never fail to give off a lovely display.
Still have a fair few plants just starting to open up, but i’m sure it won’t be long before they are in full flower.
The boys sunflowers are shooting up too!
And finally there’s the greenhouse.
We have some tomato and cucumber plants, perfect for summer salads. We used to have a veg patch but it was hard to keep on top of and we wasted so much, so it made sense to just use the greenhouse and not over grow.
So that’s what’s going on in our garden, do you have green fingers?
Your garden is gorgeous. I am quite jealous. There is so much colour in it.
We only have a small paved back yard so I don’t get to do much gardening…Hmmf! hehehe x
Oh thanks Kim, This is probably the biggest garden I have had, others have been much smaller so had more pots than anything.

Oh my goodness, you have a lovely garden! I don’t have green fingers, but my husband does. We’ve just moved into our new house, so the garden is still looking a bit wild. We’re planning to do a major over-haul in the summer and hopefully plant a few veg too. Can’t wait 🙂

Hi Jayne, your garden is absolutely stunning! If you’ve managed that whilst not being in top form I can’t wait to see it when you are fully fit again! I do not have green fingers. Not in the least. I do have a fair few cactus, but they thrive on neglect so I’m sure that doesn’t count.
Without the good old British weather there would be no good old English country garden.

Oh what a beautiful garden, I love lupins but they have been eaten 2 years running and my lillies ! I might try again next year with the lupins as I just love them x
