Your house isn’t the only thing you own that needs a good clear out every now and then – you may have a garden that needs tending to as well! And seeing as we’re in the middle of summer now, and you’re looking to host BBQs and garden parties for your friends and family, clearing out the green and colourful space you own is key.
But where do you start with such a monumental task like this? Well, maybe with tasks like these! There’s a lot to get on with, so let’s make sure you’ve got some ideas to help inspire you.
Sweep Up the Yard
Most gardens have a yard to them or a small patio – either way, there’s a bit of space without plants or grass, and it’s where you’ll keep most of your furniture or gardening tools such as strimmers.
The first thing to do is to move everything out of the way. Then, it’s time to get sweeping! If you manage to get all the excess mud and dirt and grime out of the way, and into a bag to put in the compost, the garden is going to look a lot more put together than it did before. If your yard is covered in algae or moss, a bit of power washing wouldn’t go amiss either!
Pad Out Your Boxes
A garden is a place to grow and cultivate plants, and a lot of us like to grow our own fruits and vegetables as well. And usually, the best way to grow these edible plants are with planter boxes or raised beds. It’s a lot easier to control the soil and takes less time to water, so it might just be the best way forward for your summer garden!
It also means you don’t have to struggle and battle with the ground of the garden itself, especially if you’re planting late in the year and don’t have time to do all of the groundwork.
Get Those Trees Down!
And finally, if you have trees at the back or dotting the side of your garden, it might just be worth your time to get them trimmed. It means a lot more light and warmth will make its way into your garden, priming the plants you’re growing and making sure they’re rich with produce after they flower.
Don’t worry, you won’t have to manage this task yourself; there’s a good chance you’re not strong enough or have the right tools on hand. There’s plenty of Tree Cutting Services out there for you to rely on, so collect some numbers together, as they’ll be in demand during this time of year!
Your garden might need a bit of a cleanup, and seeing as it’s summer, now’s the perfect time to get the work started!
