It’s been a while since our previous Likes and Loves. To be honest, the past few months have been a blur! Things have been so busy that the time has just flown by. But with that said, I do like to take a little time to appreciate the little things we have liked or loved from the previous month.
So here are our likes and loves for April…
A New Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
We were kindly sent the Hoover Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with ANTI-TWIST to try out and I love it so much! We have installed it upstairs and it’s perfect for running across the bedroom carpets.
I love that it’s super lightweight, making it ideal for cleaning the stairs too.

Crochet
Things have been a bit busy here lately and I’ve struggled to take time out for myself, so I went shopping for some yarn. I am currently working on a summer wreath. I’ve really missed crocheting, and glad to be back at it.
I got the idea for my wreath from the Hobbycraft blog, so I’m excited to see it once it’s finished and hanging up.

Divine Dessert Bars
We recently discovered these delicious chocolate bars from Divine thanks to the lovely team at Fairtrade.
Divine only uses 100% Fairtrade cocoa and sugar, natural flavours and no palm oil or soya. As the only Fairtrade chocolate company in the world co-owned by farmers, every bar you buy improves the lives of cocoa farmers and their families.
These chocolate dessert bars feel like a real indulgent treat, perfect for cosy nights in front of the TV. The three flavours I have tried are –
- Bakewell – Cherry & Almond Dark Chocolate
- Cheesebake – Lemon & Biscuit White Chocolate
- Tiramisa – Coffee & Biscuit Milk Chocolate
I think my favourite has to be the Bakewell bar. It is so flavourful and moreish. It’s a hard call though because the other two bars are equally as yummy!
Divine chocolate bars are available at Amazon, Divine Chocolate, Ocado and Oxfam. RRP £4.49.

Primark Skincare
Hands up who loves Primark. I do love a browse around Primark. There’s one thing I’ve never really considered buying and that’s Primark skincare. Mainly because I’ve gone in store with something specific in mind, like clothing for my boys or perhaps pyjamas for myself.
I have recently been introduced to PS…Superfood Raspberry Overnight Lip Mask and PS…Papaya Balm to Oil Cleanser.
Pop on the PS…Superfood Raspberry Overnight Lip Mask to help hydrate and nourish your lips whilst you sleep. It has a yummy raspberry taste and leaves your lips feeling moisturised when you wake up.
The PS…Papaya Balm to Oil Cleanser is another Fairtrade and vegan-friendly product. Mixed with a little water, it transforms into oil to deeply cleanse the skin.
I normally use micellar water as part of my cleansing routine, but I must say, this balm-to-oil cleanser is growing on me. It leaves my skin feeling cleansed and refreshed.

Flowers
I’ve said it many times on here before, but I love flowers in our home. Craig often buys me a bunch of flowers and I pick up a bunch when I’m out and about shopping. A pretty vase of flowers instantly cheers me up!

A Good Night’s Sleep
This month we had a new bed thanks to a lovely collaboration with Simba. We also had the most comfiest mattress thanks to a campaign with Origin.
Our previous bed was so uncomfortable, I was glad to see it go.
Now I can get a good night’s sleep, but the trouble being, that it’s so much harder to drag myself out of bed in the morning! It is so snuggly.

Getting Some Answers
Saving the best until last. After my big boy being so very poorly over the past 12 months, he finally got a diagnosis and started his treatment for crohn’s. He has been in constant pain and lost so much weight it’s untrue.
Obviously, we would rather he not had crohn’s, but having a diagnosis means we can move forward and help him to manage his condition.
For someone who has never really had any hospital intervention, he’s had procedures under general anaesthetic and so many blood tests. He has taken it all in his stride and got on with it.
Hopefully, his new meds will help to stabilise his crohn’s and put him in remission. We will be keeping our fingers crossed that he can enjoy the summer holidays without fear of those awful stomach cramps knocking him off his feet.
I’m so very proud of my boy.

What are your highlights of the month?
That vacuum looks great. It does look perfect for doing the stairs.
Those dessert bars sounds amazing! I think I would go for the Tiramisu one.
I will have to try the skincare from Primark! I have been using the Primer which is amazing.
I am glad you are getting some good sleep. You really need it after the year you’ve had. I hope the new meds are helping Jayden out. It sounds like he has been amazing, you must be so proud. x
Lovely – still no tried primark makeup – great prices
