6 Reasons Why I Love Our Simba Ludlow Ottoman Bed

We have recently been very lucky to have worked with the lovely guys at Simba.
I was kindly sent a Simba Ludlow Ottoman Bed and I can’t begin to explain what a game-changer it is for family living. Whether you’re a parent in need of extra storage for toys and linens or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of a well-crafted piece of furniture, Simba beds are really impressive.
So much so, that I’m sharing 5 reasons why I love our Simba bed! I could name several more with ease, but here we go…

Built to Last

The first thing we noticed after the arrival of our Simba Ludlow Bed was how heavy it was. Our previous, bed was super flimsy in comparison and as a result, didn’t have the same quality and durability as the Simba bed base.
Made in Yorkshire by skilled craftsmen, it is evident that a lot of care and attention goes into making these beds. They really are stunning.

A Variety Of Bed Base Options

You can choose from four bed base options.

Two Drawer storage base – Featuring two 51cm wide drawers; Double or King size bases have one drawer on either side, whereas Single or Super King bases have the drawers side by side (you can decide which side you’d prefer during assembly).

Four Drawer storage base – Featuring four 51cm wide drawers, two on each side of the bed.

*Not available in a Single size

Ottoman storage base – Featuring a huge storage space (up to 768 litres) under the mattress; it’s easily accessed with a simple, gas-lift mechanism.

No storage – Loving the Ludlow but don’t need more storage? It’s available with a standard base too.

So much Storage Space

We chose the ottoman base and I’m so glad we did. The storage space is unbelievable!
The gas struts are already installed, you just have to connect them and away you go. This bed holds twice if not three times as much as our old divan with drawers. It is ideal for storing extra bedding, pillows, seasonal clothing, or any other items you want to keep out of sight but easily accessible.
It has really opened up more space in our bedroom having provided us with this extra storage. It’s invaluable.

Choice Of Colours

Simba has a lovely choice of colours and textures that you can opt for your choice of bed.
I chose Velvety Peacock which comes in a premium velour finish. I absolutely love the colour and would say that I personally think it is almost like a regent green. It makes a brilliant statement and gives a lovely pop of colour against the neutral colour scheme that we have.
You can also order the Ludlow bed in Linen-Feel Vanilla, Plush Cloud Grey, Tweedy Pebble, Brushed Midnight Blue and Velvety Graphite.

Easy Access

Unlike traditional under-bed storage, which often requires bending down and crawling on the floor to reach, ottoman beds offer easy access to your stored items. The gas mechanism makes lifting the bed base effortless, allowing you to access your belongings with minimal effort.
Even with a heavy mattress on top like ours, it makes light work of accessing your stored items.

Excellent Delivery Service

We were kept informed throughout the order process and although these beds are made to order, it was with us in no time!
The delivery guys were friendly and courteous. They were willing to take the bed into our bedroom and assemble it all. However, our new mattress wasn’t delivered at that time and having to use our old bed temporarily, we sadly had to decline. We could not fault the delivery service at all. You will not be disappointed.

To be completely honest, there really is nothing that I can critique on the Simba Ludlow bed. I feel that the price is worth every penny and I know that we will still appreciate the bed for many years to come. Thank you Simba!
