Memories And Teddy Bear Tales With Christopher Robin

Memories And Teddy Bear Tales With Christopher Robin

My fondest memories of when I was a little girl was my love of teddies. And not just any old teddy but one extraordinary teddy bear in particular. It was very dear to me as it came from a very special person in my life… grandad.

Grandad really was my hero. Time spent with my grandad was just the best, and it saddens me that I can never get that back but one thing is for sure that I will certainly cherish it for a lifetime. Harold known as ‘H’ to his friends, was a very hard working miner. There used to be lots of excursions throughout the year where the miners and their wives would be able to go on trips and generally let their hair down. On one trip my grandad won me the biggest teddy bear. It stood about 4ft tall!

I called him ‘Harold’, I named him after grandad. Well, I was going to wasn’t I?! After all, he was my BFF.  Harold was my go to when I was sad, he gave the best cuddles. He brought me comfort when I was scared and he was the best playmate ever!

When my grandad left this world it broke my heart. I had lost my best friend. I still have Harold to this day and every time I look at him propped up against the wall in our room I see memories. Lots of fun, laughter and beautiful memories. You see a teddy is not just a teddy, it is something you will take through life with you and every single one has its own little story to tell.

Now I have children of my own and I see them share that same special bond that I had with mine.

One very special bear that will never grow old and that is Winnie The Pooh. Jayden has Pooh and Piglet by Posh Paws which are inspired by the latest Disney Christopher Robin movie.  This lovely vintage range of Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger are sitting on Debenhams shelves waiting for a new home. They are available in 7″, 10″ and 20″. Ours pictured are 10″. They are super soft and snuggly and the attention to detail is awesome. It is clear to see that they are high quality and built to last and I just know that the boys will play with these for many years to come.

So they went off together. But wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing. – A.A.Milne

The appeal of Winnie the Pooh is so enduring isn’t it? These look like such sweet toys, it’s easy to see why your boys love them so much. I remember all of my childhood toys too – there’s something really special about them!

Oh these teddies are gorgeous! So soft and cuddly. I was a huge teddy fan as a child and I have so many memories attached to them such as the one my mum knitted to look after me while she went into hospital.

These teddies are so cute! We all love Whinnie the Pooh in our house so we are very excited about the new film and have a few of the characters already. Teddies are so special in childhood, my two have a huge attachment to certain ones.

I know exactly what you mean. I have my teddy bears that I will never get rid of as they are too special. I have my first bear, then one my dad bought me for Valentine’s Day when I was 15 and then my first love bear my hubby bought me when we first started dating. They are definitely sentimental!

This made me tear up a little. My grandad was my world and when he passed away 18 years ago part of me when with him but I have a little keepsake from him that was a bit of a private joke between us and brings me comfort.

I had so many teddies when I was little and have managed to keep a few of my favourites. I get so attached to things, even my kids teddies! I’d be devastated if I didn’t have my fave teddy anymore.
