I have very fond memories of my Grandad. I used to spend lots of time at my Nan and Grandads house growing up.
My Grandad was training to be a solicitor in his younger years but then there was of course a big demand down the pits and the money payed well, so he spontaneously dropped his planned career to be a miner, Ironic really.
Grandad would often go for a pint at the pub opposite his house on a Sunday afternoon with work mates from the mines and if he knew dad was calling in at his house with me in tow, you could be sure he would always bring home a packet of crisps and a mars bar for me, it’s the little things isn’t it.
He used to tell me stories, some from years and years ago, he had such knowledge to share. He even helped me study for my driving theory test. He really was like a best friend to me. I loved being in his company and felt so lost when he sadly left us. He’s always in my thoughts and I am thankful that I got to share happy times with this amazing man, the man I was lucky enough to of called  ‘My Grandad’.

My Husbands Dad, Dave (my boys Grandad) was sadly taken away from us far to soon, by Cancer. Monkey never got to meet him which is sad but we have lots of photos and things of Daves which we can share with the boys when they are older. Our boys may of not been able to meet Dave but they will know that he was a wonderful man that lives on through their Daddy.
And here’s my Dad. He puts the awesome into awesomeness! but I’m going to say that aren’t I.
My boys idolise their Grandad just as I did mine.
Monkey thinks Grandad is Fun………..
Because he loves a good water fight.
Monkey loves that Grandad is silly……………
I’ll second that, as one day I was looking through my phone and I came across 70 of these mad faces! Haha. Monkey took my phone and thought he’d take a few photos, needless to say Grandad thought it was hilarious that my mobile was full of his daft selfies!
There is something very special about a bond between a Grandparent and a child.
Grandads are Super heroes in disguise!  Well so Monkey tells me 🙂

This is a lovely post, my grandad was great he sadly died before I had children but my son is named after him and I sometimes can see the cheekiness in him. Grandads are definitely like superheroes! #twinklytuesday
Aw Thank you.
That’s a nice thought to of carried your Grandads name on 🙂
I wish my kids could of met mine too!
Thanks for popping by 🙂
AW, that’s such a lovely message. My dad is shaping up to be a pretty awesome Grandpa too. Mine taught me to play chess, with infinite patience. And he never let me win. I think of him every time I play and, inevitably lose.
Thanks so much for linking up to #fartglitter xxx
Aah this is SO lovely!!! I lost my paternal grandad when I was 9 and my maternal grandad — who I loved more than anyone — died 4 years ago. One of the boys is named after him. He was 94 when he died — I was gutted. And still am a bit. So happy my boys have got two grandads at the mo 🙂 I hope they do for many, many years to come 🙂
Thanks so much for linking up with us on #TwinklyTuesday
Granddads are the very best aren’t they. So amazing to have them in your life to add not just the silliness but that much more love in their lives. Great photos. Thank you ever so much for linking up to Share With Me. I hope to see you again tomorrow for another great round! #sharewithme
