We had THE best day on Monday. We went to see the big fella in red at West Midlands Safari Park. There was no way we were missing out going here this year, so I booked the tickets online almost as soon as they were available.
I’ve got to give it to the staff, they have made the park look magical. There was fake snow everywhere. It was like entering the north pole, it looked lovely. The kids faces lit up as soon as we went through.
“Queue” The Drama
We headed straight to the Santa’s grotto queue. Jayden was so excited. Joben on the other hand was not impressed with just being woken up. Yep he was grumpy! The crying started in the queue, and you know as a parent that this is going to be the beginning of the mother of all meltdowns. We held our own and carried on through regardless. We were taken into a little made up reindeer ride (seats with a moving screen) it was quite funny, but the kids loved it AND it stopped my two year old screaming his head off! Winner!
Afterwards we then made our way to the grotto. There were loads of light up scenes as we walked along the passage.

It all got too much for Joben and Daddy had to bail on us and take our grumpy bum outside. Jayden carried on with a smile like a cheshire cat though!
It wasn’t long before we met up with Santa and his Elves, who were all awesome with the kids.
After Jayden had Santa in stitches with his witty humour and gave him a high five, we were led through to where the kids can pick a toy of their choice.
We even got a lovely snap with Santa to take home with us.
Once back outside and reunited with a little more jovial two year old and Daddy, we headed off to the land of the living dinosaurs to give our dinosaur fanatic his fix.

After the live show with David Attenborough, it was time to go home.
We had an awesome time at West Mids Safari Park, but then again, we always do!
Ah this looks like such a fabulous festive treat for the kids – and what a great gift from Santa!
It looks like a lovely day – my two year old is still very unsure about Santa! I love WMSP. Up until recently we lived about 20 mins away but we never got round to taking the kids there which is a shame. Looks lovely all festive!
Oh this looks fab!! Your boys look so excited too! I love visiting Santa at somewhere a little different to the usual shopping centres or garden centres, this looks like such a lovely experience and a fab gift too! xx

I remember going to West Midlands Safari park when my son was young and it was brilliant fun. To see Santa there would have been a dream come true

Hi Jayne, how wonderful that grotto looks? I am more than a little jealous, I would have had been in my embarrassing element in such a wonderfully Christmassy place (does that even make sense?). It is a shame that Joben was grumpy, but I suppose that’s the prerogative of a two-year-old. Jayden looks well chuffed though and I am sure that it added to the magic of Christmas.

Jeepers – this place looks absolutely class Jayne. Judging by your last comment, you guys have been here a few times before? It looks like the best (or defo one of the best) places I’ve seen to celebrate Christmas and bar a grumpy toddler, I’m guessing the kids had a blast. The attention to detail by the staff looks very impressive. I mean the snow, look at the snow everywhere!! And the dino section looks dynamite – I’m scratching my head as to which was better!!!

It looks like you had a nice time, it can be so overwhelming for the younger ones. This is the first year D has went anywhere near Santa without persuasion, two years ago he was inconsolable. Looks like a great place to take the kiddies. x #MMBC
