We love getting out and about and have had many long car journeys here and there. In fact, we have just got back from a fab week at Bluestone. I much prefer to go the scenic route so we can really appreciate the beautiful views along the way. And it gives me an excuse to get the DSLR out and take some photos.On our recent trip, we were invited to try out a new travel podcast.
THE DISCOVERY ADVENTURES PODCAST BY LAND ROVER
The Discovery Adventures is a family-friendly mystery drama that is designed to listen to in your car. The main characters Sam and his Uncle go off on their travels solving mysteries along the way. The episodes see the pair visiting multiple locations across the UK. The skilful actors, outdoor experts and the awesome binaural sound by Olivier award-winning sound designer Gareth Fry, makes this podcast deeply immersive.
WHAT WE THOUGHT
We have never really listened to podcasts in the car. We normally have our favourite CDs or mp3 players at the ready and travel along screeching singing to the songs. But as you can probably relate to when you go on long car journeys with little ones, it is imperative to keep them entertained! Or you will hear the dreaded famous line; Are we nearly there yet? On repeat, for the duration of your journey. Jayden was excited to get stuck in. Unfortunately, Joben is a little too young to understand this and was quite happy to sing along to himself whilst everybody else was listening. It certainly passed the time as we were on the road and relieved some of the boredom for Jayden. The storyline was well written, engaging and fun. I liked how it encourages people to get outdoors more and explore their surroundings. Which is something we enjoy as a family.
The only thing I felt was missing on our journey was a nice new Land Rover Discovery to ride in. Then our road trip would have been truly one to remember. A girl can dream right?!

Ooooo… never thought about an immersive podcast to entertain the kids in the car. Sounds like a brilliant idea.
