We have been busy trying out the fab Vax Airlift Steerable Pet Vacuum Cleaner thanks to the lovely people from Vax.
I have always been a big fan of Vax to be honest and my current hoover is from the Vax pet range too. I have had my hoover for a while now without any problems, so I was a little apprehensive that this new one could be any better. How wrong was I?
I absolutely love it! The steerable function is amazing for getting around corners and turns with ease as it swivels to accommodate where you want to go. It also reclines flat, making it easy to get under the bed, under chairs and so on, which I think is really handy.
The best feature for me by far is the lift out cylinder.
Lightweight for Cleaning Stairs
It makes cleaning the stairs so much easier. No more lifting the whole hoover unit up the stairs and it halves the time it takes to hoover the car now. I used to place my hold hoover on the car mat outside and with the hose not being all that long, I would pull like hell to try and reach inside the car and end up pulling the hoover over and all sorts. I can just take the cylinder inside the car with me and reach all of those crumbs and half eaten snacks from the kids!
Another thing that gave it the thumbs up from me was the long cord, so I was able to go in and out of the rooms without having to unplug it from one socket to another. The suction is brilliant too. We have just had new carpets upstairs, so I still get the odd piece of carpet pile in my present hoover. However when I hoovered with the steerable Vax, it picked up loads more.
It can be used on carpets and hard floors which is useful for me as we have both throughout the house.
Versatile Cleaning
The hose is sufficient for hard to reach places and you also get three additional attachments including the turbo tool which can get dirt and pet hair from your surfaces.

We’ve had a VAX Pet vacuum before but hated it! The brush/ bristles at the bottom get clogged up way too easily with our GSD shedding so much.
Oh dear, I can imagine the fur off a GS clogging a hoover up quite quickly.
My friend has four.
You can turn the brush function off whilst hoovering with this, so ideal to get the hair up with this setting on first, to prevent the brush getting clogged up. It has great suction too, so I imagine it keeps blockages to a minimal.
Oh that’s looks great! We need a pet vacuum too, especially since our dog and cat seems to be malting – there’s hair everywhere 🙁

It gets up our pooch’s hair no problem.

This looks great, I’m looking for a hoover as our current dyson is driving me insane! Its so bulky and heavy, I hate it! I need a hoover that’s easy to control and I take upstairs without needing to be a weighlifter! This one looks like I could that 🙂

What a super sounding appliance! We have two cats who shed, a lot. This would be really useful in our house!

Hi Jayne, we so need one of these! We battle to find a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t struggle to pick up the dog hairs. We did invest in a turbo attachment for our vacuum cleaner which has made all the difference, but I think it could still be better. The removable cylinder is a definite plus, making getting into those awkward places far easier!
PS… I do love those socks and I’m only a little bit envious!

I just purchased a Vax vacuum cleaner as I had my eye on one for a while now. This looks amazing and sounds like it does a really great job.
This looks great, we need a new hoover, though we don’t have any pets – I have found that the pet vacuums are great for doing a fab job!
