We have recently come back from an amazing week away in East Devon. We stayed in a beautiful cottage in Colyton courtesy of Classic Cottages.
Classic Cottages are on board to help you find the perfect holiday home for your time away. They ensure that all of the cottages they manage meet up to your requirements and more!
There are so many beautiful properties available to rent and all in gorgeous locations. You can filter your search on the website by cottages with a sea view, near a beach or whether they have a hot-tub or a swimming pool. Helping you to find exactly what you are looking for.
Stable Tallet

Stable Tallet is a four bedroom cottage located on a working farm owned by Mr & Mrs Broom.
On our arrival, we were pleasantly greeted by this lovely tea set and flapjack. Just what we needed after a four-hour drive!

And not forgetting these lovely tulips too.

The kitchen had everything we needed. Washing machine/dryer, microwave, cooker and every utensil you could think of. Classic Cottages have an inventory that all of their cottages must adhere too. Because of this, it really feels like home from home.

After exploring the cottage the boys soon got snuggled up on their favourite chair.

The living room was spacious, light and airy and very welcoming. It had a lovely rustic feel to it and the views are a treat, especially to those who live in built-up areas. You have standard Freeview and a playstation 3 for the kids. My two have always got their ipads with them so they didn’t really play with it. It certainly is a nice option to have though.

The downstairs bedroom has plenty of storage for your all of your belongings as do all of the bedrooms. This one has a shower. There is also a toilet just outside of the room making this ideal for elderly who may stay here. All bedrooms are supplied with linen and fresh towels.

Upstairs has 3 bedrooms. This one has an ensuite.

This twin room is perfect for the kids.

It has a family bathroom just outside from the twin room.

A single room which has a store cupboard with a vacuum, iron and ironing board.

We did have a lot of rain on our stay at Stable Tallet. Although that didn’t stop us and we did visit some lovely places nearby. But when we chose to stay in we opened up the cupboard which is full of games to keep everyone entertained. We had some fun playing Jenga, although Jayden and nanny didn’t like losing!

There is also a kids play area to the rear.

And just look at those views.

If you have the weather, which unfortunately we didn’t then you can hop into the huge hot tub and soak up the beautiful surroundings.

Also brilliant for rainy days is the games room just a minutes walk away from the cottage. It has a pool table, air hockey, a football table and a tennis table. Not forgetting the dart board and plenty more boxes full of activities.

We absolutely loved our stay at Stable Tallet. We were made to feel welcome throughout our stay and would definitely return.
I would just like to add that yes this cottage is located on a busy working farm, but we could not believe just how peaceful it was considering it is very close to the farm. It did not make any impact on our stay whatsoever.
You may like to see where to visit nearby. Check out our visit to The Donkey Sanctuary and Seaton Hole beach.
*We were provided this holiday free of charge in return for our honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own*
What a lovely venue!
Thank you for sharing these lovely photos of your trip 🙂

You’re welcome Debs! Thanks for popping by 🙂
What a gorgeous place to stay. It really does look like a home away from home.
It looks like there is plenty to do even on the wettest days. x #MMBC
It was great Kim. It was so quiet even being on a working farm. And there was plenty of things to do just a car ride away. x
Looks like a great place to visit with room for the whole family. I’d love to visit the UK and go out into the country. #MMBC
Would be great to see you over here Carol. ?
Hi, this looks like a lovely place to stay, the tulips are a great touch. I think that we would spend many hours in the games room.
Yes, it was a lovely thought. The games room is a saviour on rainy days.
Oh wow this looks wonderful, have bookmarked this page to look into these cottages more, thank you
Definitely, recommend having a browse Susan! I hope you find your perfect getaway.
It looks a fabulous place to stay. We prefer to hire a cottage or apartment when we are hoildaying in the UK.as we perfer not to be ruled by schedules and timetables plus it is a great way to discover hidden food gems. I however get disappointed when no welcome treats (tea/coffee) are left as usually by the time you arrrive you could really do with a cuppa and not trekking to find the local shop straight away.
It’s so much better isn’t Lisa?! And yes a nice brew is always welcomed after a long journey ?
Ahhhh it looks like you had a lovely stay! This is just the lovely sort of break we love to have as a family – you can’t beat a cottage stay in my book! Shame you didn’t have the weather for the hot tub though!
It was lovely Talya. I think the kids would have stayed it the hot tub all day if they could have!
My kids would love that games room and I would love the hot tub and the views. It really does sound like Classic Cottages make sure that all the little touches are in place that really make all the difference. I’ll definitely be checking out their properties.
That sounds like a lovely place for a family getaway. It looks beautifully decorated with everything you need too!
Oh my what a beautiful cottage it looks so welcoming too – we are thibking of renting a cottage as it gives us more privacy than a standard hotel when on holliday
This is unbelievably cute! You’re getting homely vibes whole still having a holiday! It’s a win win situation! I prefer these types of accommodations over hotels as they feel more intimate and personal! I hope you had amazing time!!!
Oh I think I could get too used to staying in a place that lovely! I’m starting to realise just how much stuff I have when we go somewhere that is “stuff free”. So beautiful – I wanna go there!
That looks beautiful! I am totally impressed by how much there is to do for the children as well. Since we tend to fill the car up with so much stuff there’s not much room for entertainment. Love the hot tub! I will have to remember this one.
Oh this is lovely, I am looking for awesome places for my family and I to go vacation at. This cottage looks like something suitable for the 7 of us
Will have to visit here sometime!
The views look amazing and so does the cottage!
