I have been trying to get stuck into a meal plan routine for a while now, but never seem to make a start! Meal planning makes perfect sense to us as we home school and everybody is busy during the day. By knowing what we are having for dinner, we can make sure that we have all of the ingredients at hand. It also saves us time trying to decide on something and as we don’t waste any food, it makes budgeting much easier.
So this is what we will be eating this week.
Monday – Tacos. We normally have the soft Old El Paso boats because the boys really enjoy putting their own fillings in.
Tuesday – Chicken and leek bake
Wednesday – Spaghetti bolognese most probably with garlic bread. This is a firm favourite in our house. I usually make the sauce from scratch but it’s a Dolmio day if it’s been a busy one!
Thursday – Cheesy broccoli bake. I came across this on Slimming World but the whole family love this one. It’s nice to have a meat-free meal now and again to break things up a little.
Friday – Slow cooker kebabs. We might be a little bit hooked on these! They taste so good and are a much healthier version than the classic doner kebab from the chip shop!
Saturday – A takeaway, thinking pizza! We have a lot of movie’s planned for the weekend so this will be a nice treat to watch them with.
Sunday – A roast dinner. Most probably a chicken dinner with roasted carrots, parsnips, mustard mash and cauliflower cheese.

Great meal plan! My girls love those Old El Paso boats. We usually have spaghetti bolognese one day and then the next fill the boats with them & cover in cheese.
We’re having pizza on Saturday too but I’m getting the kids to make their own. It gives them something to do instead of sitting on their computers. lol Have a great week x

I have to plan my menu ahead or everything falls apart! Looks good! #MMBC
Kim got me into meal planning but recently we have gone off track so this post will inspire me to get back to it as saves time and money and makes for more interesting meals too. I will be around to yours on Tuesday! #MMBC and it is Kate on Thin Ice commenting
Sounds delicious! Tonight we had a shrimp stir fry; Tuesday is steak with potatoes & broccoli; Wednesday we’re having chicken with squash casserole; and Thursday we’re having tacos with salad. We’re grocery shopping on Friday so we’ll meal plan again on Thursday before we make up our new list.
