Getting A Good Night’s Sleep With Sleepeezee

It’s quite hard to believe that we have been in our house for just over 2 years now. It only seems like yesterday when we were knee-high in cardboard boxes and mortified at the amount of stuff we had to unpack!
We’ve been doing little jobs here and there to put our stamp on the place.  The one thing on my list was to replace our bed which we’ve never been happy with.
We recently partnered up with Sleepeezee to share our thoughts on the Perfectly British G2 Memory Four Drawer Divan.

Who Are Sleepeezee?

I’m going to kick this off with a little introduction to Sleepeezee.
Sleepeezee was established way back in 1924. Now a leading bed manufacturers, Sleepeezee’s bespoke products are all made at their factory in Kent by skilled craftspeople. They were voted best bed manufacturer of the year 2020 and also hold a royal warrant to HRH Prince Charles.
Any timber used in their products are sourced from sustainably managed forests and they are also active supporters of Prince Charles’ Campaign For Wool. This campaign supports British sheep farmers and promotes the benefits of wool.

So Sleepeezee is not just a reliable and reputable bed and mattress manufacturer, they are super friendly to the planet too!

Choosing A Bed

The order process is super easy. On the website, you have the option to purchase a mattress, if that’s all you require or you can build a bespoke bed to your own requirements.

First I opted for the G Memory G2 mattress. We noticed that with our old mattress we were waking up with aches and pains so I wanted to choose a mattress with optimum support.
Over 2000 Softech springs within the mattress contour the body provided just the right amount of support. It also has a graphite memory foam layer that prevents overheating.

Prior to planning our new bed, we obviously had to sort out the mattress removal of our previous one first. This was quite effortless. Some bed companies will even take away your old mattress for recycling, so definitely worth asking for sure.

A Bespoke Headboard

Having bed frames previously we have never had a bespoke headboard. I was blown away by the variety of headboards Sleepeezee has to offer. You can choose from a huge range of designs, such as full-height headboards, winged headboards, deep buttoned panels, cushioned square panels and many more lovely styles.
We chose the Windsor headboard in Tweed Cream to match the divan base. It has a beautiful deep button detail that creates a super comfy cushioned square pattern.
I love how comfy this is when we sit up in bed at night to watch the TV. I definitely favour the floor standing headboards. They not only make an awesome focal point but they are considerably sturdier than a strutted headboard.

Is A Divan Better Than A Bed Frame?

In my opinion yes a divan is better than a frame. After only having bed frames I am totally converted to divans now. During the order process, I was asked if I wanted storage in my divan. Extra storage is always useful so I chose a four drawer divan. Other options include a 2 drawer, 2 + 2 continental drawer and a side opening ottoman for where you don’t have space to access drawers. You can of course go for the no storage option if you wish. The bed was automatically chosen in the same cream tweed material as the headboard.

The Benefits Of A Divan Bed

• You can customise a divan bed. The option for extra storage is fantastic should you need it. It also conceals your belongings which is much neater than storage boxes under your bed.
• Easily assembled and disassembled. This is especially handy when you come to moving house!
• Fixed castors make light work of moving the bed around the room.

Delivery

The delivery of our new bed could not have been better. We were telephoned by the delivery company Keen and Able to book us a day for delivery. The two-man delivery team turned up on the chosen day and we waited in a different room while they bought in and assembled our new bed. They took all of the packaging away along with our old bed and mattress and in less than half an hour they were gone. I just couldn’t knock the service at all they were fantastic.

Is the G Memory G2 Mattress Comfortable?

Yes yes and yes! I always find it hard to choose the right mattress. Partly because I want some support but I don’t like the mattress to feel like I’m lying on a plank of wood!
The G2 Memory mattress is beyond comfy. When you lie down, you feel the support instantly but then there is this soft and sumptuous feel as the mattress gently moulds to your body. It is fantastic and I would go as fas as to say that I had the best night’s sleep in a long long time.
It’s recommended that you rotate the mattress from head to foot every other week for the first few months, then monthly, just to help keep its wonderful shape.
 

Our Overall Thoughts On The Divan Bed

The bed looks beautiful and the overall finish is remarkable. The drawers pull out easily and hold 15kg of storage in each one. The support that you get from the mattress is superb and exactly what we were looking for. My Fitbit says that I am getting a much more rested nights sleep, not turning or waking as much as I did on our old bed. When I wake up in the morning I feel refreshed and ready to tackle the day ahead. I am aware that the total cost of the bed may seem a little expensive, but the quality of the bed is fabulous and like everything in life, you get what you pay for.
