If you have ever moved home then you know just how stressful it can be. We have been in our new home almost 7 months now and even though we have tackled the bathroom, we still have plenty more jobs to be getting on with. I also see the garden as an extra room to the home, after all, we spend just as much time out there if not more than we do indoors. To be honest, one job I do enjoy is gardening. I do appreciate that not everyone is green fingered but that shouldn’t put you off! There are specialists out there such as MyBuilder who can help you find a gardener for your project.
We are very lucky to have really good sized gardens and they sweep naturally around the cottage. Although there are lots of established plants already, I have so many ideas of what to add to the existing layout.
Decking
At the moment there is no decking present. We do enjoy having bbq’s so it would be nice to create a small space for this. I love how you can have so many looks and themes going on with decked areas. You can give it a modern flair by using bold coloured pots and rattan furniture. Ours is a cottage garden so I will want to keep mine looking unstructured surrounded with wild blooms so it mingles in with the rest of the space.

Water Feature
Ideally, I would love a big pond but it’s a big no for now as I have little ones so this will be a project for the future. Water features are equally as nice though so I will either browse for one I like or make my own rustic feature using some old terracotta jugs or a galvanised watering can.

Additional Borders
I love my flowers and grow my own every year. The rear garden is pretty much lawn and shrubs so I am currently planning to add some additional borders that will eventually be brimming with colour. Delphiniums will be one of my first choices, they look so pretty and even more so when there are masses of them. If a border works well, it can also keep a garden in good condition, especially with a durable, no-mow lawn option.

We have just finished doing our garden, its only small but has taken ages to get how we want it, we have also put decking down, an decked are for us grown ups to relax in and enjoy at the front of the garden and a decked area with a kids activity centre built onto it, and now its all finished the rain comes lol
We live in a flat so don’t have a garden but I have an allotment which is the next best thing! I’m always changing & planning something, so it’ll probably never be quite finished! #MMBC
