Do you remember Tetris? I used to spend ages playing it when I was younger and now my eldest plays it too. It was World Tetris Day on the 6th June and Tetris is celebrating 35 years of the fun and very addictive block game. We have recently had a Tetris bundle land on our doorstep so we have been having some gaming fun with Tetris Dual and Tetris Speed from John Adams.

Tetris Dual Age 6+

Tetris Dual is a 2 player game. Before you start you will need 2 x AA batteries to power the unit. The game comes in pieces – A base unit with 2 x LCD screens and controls, clear plastic matrix play grid, light up tower block, purple tower block and game pieces. The parts easily slot together and you are ready to play in minutes.

Each player takes turns to drop the Tetrimino shapes which are displayed on their LCD display. As with the original game, score points by dropping a block next to the same colour and score more points by completing a full row.

There are two game modes to choose from.

Speed – In this mode, you get 60 seconds to complete your turn. You lose points if you don’t complete your turn before the timer runs out!

Countdown – This game has a countdown timer and the aim is to score bonus points by completing the game with the most time remaining.

Tetris Speed Age 6+

This fast-paced card game tests your speed and reaction. This game can be played with 2-8 players. There are two decks of cards, a white deck and a purple deck. Depending on how many players are taking part determines how many coloured decks you use.
The aim of the game is to play all of your Tetrimino cards before your opponents play theirs.
Simply place a card face up in the middle of all players. Deal out the cards face down between everyone.  Each card shows a symbol of one of the shapes and a smaller picture of what shape must be played next.

We have had great fun with both games and they are ideal to take along on holidays or caravan stays to keep everyone entertained.
