My little lad loves the Octonauts so you can imagine the level of excitement when we were kindly asked to test out the new Octopod Playset. But it’s not just any old playset, no! It’s an Octopod Slime playset.
The Octopod comes un assembled. It takes literally 5 minutes to put the pieces together. It pays to take care as some of the fittings are those that once they click into position you cannot remove them.
Once we assembled and dressed it with the stickers (A couple were stuck in the wrong places, oops!) We headed outside to play with it, as it was quite a pleasant day.
Slimetastic!
Typical little boy, he couldn’t get the lid off the slime quick enough!
There’s a bit of a sticky situation over in the Octopod. It has been covered in slime. Not to worry as captain Barnacles is ready to solve the mystery!
There are lots of fun features on this toy. If you press the mouth of the octopod it activates lots of phrases from the crew. It also plays parts of the Octonauts theme tune and sounds off the Octo-alert. The translucent tentacles light up a glowing ‘slime green’ colour too. With the sun being out, it makes it hard to determine where the lights are, so I took a picture inside just to show you.
It has also has an Octo-hatch in the centre of the launch bay, for an easy escape. Mmm, looks like Barnacles is sleeping on the job again!
Overall we were really impressed with this! The only thing I would like to add is, I think there could be a little more slime provided, but I suppose it’s less for Mummy to clean up! This has a big thumbs up from us, and it is excellent value at just £39.99.
Do you have an Octonauts fan? Perhaps the Octopod slime playset might be on their Christmas list?

This looks bigger than I’d expect which is nice. Little man loves Octonauts so may have to consider this for Christmas! #triedtested
Hi Kaye, Yes it is surprisingly larger than you would expect when looking at the pieces unassembled.
That looks like a great set. I can imagine it being on a lot of Christmas lists x
Its great Kim, I think it’s going to be a popular one! x
This gives me back so much memories. T used to love the Octonauts too and had all the characters and two Pods! She would’ve loved this, especially the slime 😉
We have an old style Octopod and it has been used for years – this looks great for an Octonauts fan #triedteseted
I know a little boy who would love this, it looks great fun for little fingers x
My kids love octonauts and slime!!! I won’t be telling them about this toy any time soon though, we have enough to deal with without actual slime in the mix, it does look fun though!
Oh wow that looks amazing! Boo loves the Octonauts and I think she would love this!
Sounds like a cool set. My son would love this.
Hi Jayne, now this looks like fun! What child doesn’t enjoy playing with a bit of slime? Although I think the colour could have been a little less green! I can imagine the fun a child would have playing with this playset.
