2 onions finely sliced

2 bay leaves

4 curry leaves

1 tsp crushed garlic

1 tsp grated ginger

1/2 tsp ground cloves

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp curry powder

100 grams of frozen peas

400ml water

Method

Heat a couple of tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan along with the bay leaves, cloves and cinnamon.

When the spices start to sizzle, add the onion garlic and ginger and fry over a medium heat for a few minutes until the onions have turned translucent.

Add the mince and fry until browned stirring continuously to break down the meat.

Add the remaining spices to the frying pan, stir and fry for a further 5-6 minutes.

Add the water and frozen peas and return to the boil.

Allow the curry to simmer away for 5 – 10 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

Serve immediately with your choice of sides and enjoy.

  1. Oh yay! I have all these ingredients in the house. Indian food is the cuisine I cook the least in our household. Maybe because I always thought it would be difficult but this looks pretty simple. Thank you for the recipe
