Slimming World Keema curry pie recipe

Since I have been meal planning each week, I find that we try lots more new recipes.  My husband is a brilliant cook so with us both cooking up different recipes, we get lots of varied meals to enjoy. We are also cutting down on food waste since meal planning and being more frugal too. The latest recipe we have tried is this super tasty Slimming World Keema Curry Pie and it is absolutely amazing! Lovely curried mince filling with Tumeric mashed potato topping makes for a warming hearty meal.

Ingredients

For the filling

2 x garlic cloves

1 x onion, quartered

Low-calorie cooking spray

1 tsp roughly chopped fresh root ginger

250g lean turkey breast mince 5% fat or less

250g lean beef mince 5% fat or less

1 x beef stock cube

2 x tbsp medium curry powder

400g tinned chopped tomatoes

Salt & fresh ground black pepper

200g frozen peas

Steamed veg to serve with

For mash

1 1/4 tsp turmeric

125g fat-free natural Greek yoghurt and extra to serve

1 kg floury potatoes, Desiree or King Edwards

Method

1 Pop the onion, garlic and ginger in a food processor to make a paste.

2 Spray a deep frying pan with low-calorie cooking spray and place over medium heat. Heat the beef mince until brown and remove from pan. Then repeat with the turkey mince.
Fry the onion paste for a minute or so and then stir in the curry powder and cook for a minute.

3 Crumble the stock cube over the mix, add both minces to the pan, and add tomatoes and a tin full of water. Simmer for 15-20 mins, add peas and season.

4 Moving on to the mash. Boil potatoes with turmeric for 8-12 minutes. Drain well and leave to steam dry in the pan. Mash in yoghurt and season.
Pre-heat oven to 220°C/fan-assisted oven 200°C/gas 7.

5 Place mince into 4 individual oven-proof pie dishes and then top with mash. Spray lightly with low-calorie cooking spray.

6 Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden.

7 Serve with yoghurt and steamed veg.

    1. They are lovely,I only used beef mince,I didn’t bother with the turkey mince.ive also done them with chicken pieces and it’s just as nice. Hope you like.

    Oh wow! This looks amazing and delicious. I have never thought to use low-fat Greek yogurt for the mash. I have only used butter, milk, and sometimes cream. This is a much healthier option. Thanks so much for sharing, I will have to give it a try #mmbc

  3. I love a good curry pie. I always make a massaman curry version and it works super well since massaman usually has potatoes in it too. I even add some peanuts in the stew part for extra texture
