This week we have been putting the new Dettol Laundry Cleanser to the test. To be honest I’d never have thought of adding a laundry cleanser in with the washing before. I suppose you just assume that as long as the cycle is on a hot wash it would naturally kill the germs. However, this is not always the case.
Looking at previous research, when you wash your laundry at 60°C or below it can leave bacteria behind and transfer from one item to another. Dettol Antibacterial Laundry Cleanser kills 99.9% of bacteria in every wash. Even at temperatures as low as 15°C.
It is dermatologically tested and is also safe to use on your little one’s bedding and clothes.
Now I would imagine that towels can harbour a lot of germs so instead of washing ours on a hot cycle, I went for a simple 30°C and added the recommended 2 caps of cleanser to my fabric softener drawer.

The fragrance was Fresh Cotton which was quite pleasant. Being an anti-bacterial cleanser I was expecting it to smell quite clinical but it had a nice refreshing smell that left my towels clean and germ-free. There is also a choice of Lavender too.
Being a mom herself, DR Pixie Mckenna (who you may have seen on Embarrassing Bodies) backs this cleanser 100% especially on things like babies favourite blankets where germs can thrive. So it seems this is a very useful thing to use alongside your laundry routine when using low temperatures.
It is ideal to use on things such as – bedding, socks, underwear, towels and so on.
