The kit has 59 pieces in total, with 47 cardboard parts that press out of their templates and slot together to make this awesome Plane Launcher! So the fact no glue is needed makes this a fantastic mess-free craft.
You also get 10 pre-printed paper aeroplanes to try out with the launcher and 4 score targets.
The step by step instructions are easy to follow and there are diagrams displaying where to put the next part. If you get stuck you can always pop onto the Build Your Own website where there are video tutorials to guide you.
Jayden really enjoyed building this kit and it took him around 25 minutes to complete the plane launcher.
Once built, the plane launcher is super sturdy. Considering it is made from cardboard it really holds its own and will last for some time to come.
Experiment with the 10 different fold ‘n’ fly paper planes. Follow the simple instructions to create your bespoke planes, then see how their performance can be affected by combining the integrated power scale and changes to the plane’s flight dynamics.
You could then have challenges with who can land their plane closest to one of the scoring targets or adjust the wings to see if it flies or loops.
We love the Build Your Own kits, they support STEAM in a child’s education and most important of all, they are a fun lockdown activity.
