Living in a considerably old lock house, it’s no surprise that the interiors have started to look a little tired, to say the least!
We have recently started a massive project to decorate all of the rooms in our home. Along with the standard painting and wallpapering we will be adding new window fixtures too. We have recently partnered up with the lovely folk at BlindsbyPost to inject some life back into our windows!
BlindsbyPost has a lovely selection of blinds covering all the styles and colours that you could possibly want!
What’s more, the order process is super simple.
Firstly you need to decide what type of blind you would like, then how you would like the blind to fit. You can have your blind fitting inside the recess of the window or the outside of the recess. Measure accordingly, (there is a guide for this on the website if needed).
Fill in the online form with your measurements, both width and drop and you will receive an instant price for your blind. It really couldn’t be easier!

My favourite thing about ordering from Blindsbypost is that your order is with you next working day and because they are made to measure, fitting is really simple. No fiddly trimming required here! And the blinds are extremely well packaged to ensure there is no damage during transit.
I love Roman blinds hanging in my windows, we even made our own using a DIY Roman blind kit.
With that said, we can’t have them on the front-facing windows as we have a lot of passers-by on the canal and believe me they can be incredibly nosey!
White Living Room Blinds

My top choice for keeping prying eyes out but at the same time, letting in as much light as possible is a Venetian blind.
We chose the Gloss Pure White Real Wood With Tapes Wooden Blind and I am so glad we did.
The beautiful glossy finish helps to reflect the light making the room feel bright and airy. The blind cassette is made from metal so not only is it super strong, it will last for years to come.
We chose our blind to fit inside the window recess because we also have thermal-lined curtains. The fitting brackets allow you to mount from either the ceiling, the walls or the window itself, whatever is best for you.

Remote Controlled Blinds
For Jayden’s room, it is not so important to stop people from looking in as he is on the first floor. It is more important that the blind has both thermal and blackout qualities. For this, we chose a motorised roller blind which is not just thermal and blackout, it also is available with a wireless motor and remote control. Obviously, in a child’s bedroom, the lack of hanging cords is a huge safety benefit. The built-in Li-Ion battery lasts 3-6 months on a single charge and the best thing is that it can be controlled by your smart home hub!

Again the blind is supplied made to measure and fitting is as easy as drilling four holes. The motor is preprogrammed to stop when it reaches the drop that you specified when ordering and is also reprogrammable if required at a later date.
The products from BlindsbyPost are well made, they are asthetically pleasing and the service received is exceptional.
We couldn’t be happier with our blinds and would certainly recommend this brand should you need to update your window fixtures.
Are you planning on installing blinds?
I think I need to look into remote control blinds for my kid’s bedroom as I’m not a big fan of how the curtains let in light when the wind blows on it. I have heard good things about Blindsbypost
Practical easier and cheaper than the shops – will certainly keep in mind
Definitely need some new blinds in our dining room as our old ones look rather tired. Always wondered how the measuring from home worked.
Love the white living room ones!
What a great idea to get blinds through the post and what quick delivery!! They look great up at your windows. I do especially like the one in Jaydens room. How clever! x
I would. Love to have remote control blinds they. Just make life so much easier X
really interesting blog as I want some blinds and was dubious about ordering online even though they are so much cheaper but after reading the post I feel a lot more confident about buying online
Beautiful blinds-this is what Iām saving up for next for my bedroom š
