Having two rather messy boys and a third furry boy who as you can see, likes to lounge around, I need a good performing vacuum. It is going to have to deal with copious amounts of crumbs and everything else that the three of them leave behind!
Thankfully for us, we have partnered up with the lovely folks at Hoover to put the Hoover Upright 300 Pet Vacuum Cleaner to the test.
Hoover Upright 300 Pet Vacuum Cleaner

The first notable thing about the Hoover 300 is just how light it is. Weighing a mere 4.94 kg it is ideal for carrying up and downstairs for cleaning.
This model is a very on trend blue and dark slate grey. Also available in red and green.
We have both hard flooring and carpet throughout our home so the changeable floor setting is perfect for us.

I really like how the tools are mounted on this hoover. They are held securely into place, unlike past vacuums I have owned where the tools annoyingly keep dropping off and becoming lost in the abyss!
What tools are included?
- 3 in 1 Crevice/dusting/furniture nozzle
- Pets turbo brush

The 3-in-1 tool is handy for a whole load of different cleaning jobs and are all in one convenient unit.
The pet turbo tool is an absolute godsend for cleaning up Bruce’s hair from our shaggy rug. It cleans deep between the pile and removes the hair that the upright mode may have missed.
The hose is of an adequate length to reach the ceilings and hard-to-reach spaces where cobwebs and dust tend to gather.

Does this hoover help allergy sufferers?
The answer to this is yes!
The washable Allergy Care H13 HEPA Filter traps allergens and helps to purify the air around the home.
It also irradicates any pet dander which agitates my eldest boys’ allergies.
My favourite features
- A unique 80 degrees swivel action allowing me to glide around skirtings and obstacles with ease.
- Light enough to lift up and down the stairs
- Excellent suction!
- Great value for money
- Clears pet hair up with minimal effort
- Easy to empty 1.5l bin
- Easy to store away
- Comfortable handle
- Revives carpet pile leaving it looking like new

Overall I am very impressed by the Hoover Upright 300 Pets Vacuum Cleaner. Its cleaning performance is bang on and has everything you need to keep a house tidy with pets (and wild kids!).
Be more Bruce and buy your pet vacuum here.
I’m really starting to like Hoover. They’re really reliable and long lasting unlike the Vax vacuum we used to have. From the look of it, the vacuum doesn’t look it will weigh that light so that is super handy. I love the 3 in 1 function too.
Loving the pet turbo brush, what a great vacuum. I wish I had an upright one.
Pet turbo would be essential here! Even though our vizsla is short haired you could make another dog from the floor when I sweep up.
Sounds really good!
My hoover is on its last legs – I’d certainly consider this one
This sounds like a fantastic vacuum. You especially need a good one with a dog. It sounds like it has all the features that you need and more. x
This sounds really effective for cleaning up after a dog the other one issue is that it is quite big and bulky to do carry around, or it is because I am so used to a cordless vax I hate anything else now lol
Im thinking of moving to an upright hoover thanks for the review
I could do with one of these x
Finding a good, reliable vacuum cleaner is as challenging as finding a good steam generator iron. I have had my Miele cylinder vacuum for several years now and although it is still going strong it has become a struggle to do the stairs with it!
I like the look of this. I’m so fed up of dragging my heavy vacuum up and down stairs. I’m totally with you about the tools, I long ago lost mine into the depts of the cupboard! Must say I like the look of Bruce too. What a sweetie. He poses so well!
This sounds perfect as we have a dog who loves to shed his hair everywhere!
