I love making crafts that can be used for some time to come. I’ve crocheted peg bags, hats, gloves, scarfs and plenty of bathroom accessories. Since I did my face scrubbies post I’ve had a few requests for a pattern, and I’ve finally managed to get around to it! Eco-Friendly crochet face scrubbies are brilliant for using alongside your skincare routine.
They are fab for cleansing, removing make-up and can be popped in the washer when needed. They are much more eco-friendly than cotton wool or wipes and they only take minutes to make!
You could even make a bundle of these and add them to some toiletries/skincare products to make a nice gift for someone.
Crochet Face Scrubbies
I find this pattern gives a much better finish than the first batch I made. The puff stitches are more raised so they give the scrubbies more texture, which is great for removing make-up and everyday grease build-up.
Even my oldest loves using them. He is at that age where his skin is more prone to blackheads, so he uses these along with some warm soapy water to keep them at bay.
Here is the pattern if you fancy having a go yourself.
Here is what you will need –
- Hook used – 4mm
- Yarn – Cotton blend
- Yarn needle
- scissors
Stitches & Abbreviations
Ch sp- Chain space
Ch – Chain
Sl st- Slip stitch
Rep – Repeat
Puff st – Puff stitch
Instructions
Ch4, sl st to 1st ch and make a ring.
Round 1 – Ch2, puff st, ch1 in the centre of ring x 6.
Sl st to top of first puff st to end the round.
Round 2 – Sl st into 1st ch sp, ch 2. Puff st, ch1 in ch sp between puffs twice. Rep in each ch sp. Sl st in top of the 1st puff st. You should have 12 puffs in total.
Round 3 – Sl st into 1st ch sp. Puff st, ch1 twice in next ch sp. Rep and cont around. Sl st into the top of 1st puff st of round. Fasten off and weave in tails with your yarn needle.
