It has been quite some time since I popped a crochet update on here. It’s been hard to find the time to get the hooks out what with work and all of the gardening I have been doing.
My latest make is a crochet peg bag. I made my old one on the sewing machine with some leftover fabric, but it started to look tired and worn so it was time to replace it.
This is one of those lovely projects that requires no thinking, making it perfect to get on with while watching tv. Just a simple single crochet stitch is used for the bag itself and I got the idea of the little apron from Bag-O-Day crochet channel on YouTube. It’s not perfect by any means, but it was fun to make and pleasant to pick up where I left off in between other jobs.
I crocheted a little bow for the back and sewed it on to finish off.
I also made this cute little crochet cactus with a pretty pink flower. This is purely something novelty that sits on my desk and I love it! I weighed it down by using some craft gravel in the little pot and that stops it from toppling over. This is fab for using up those leftover bits of yarn.
I have several more projects lined up already! The gorgeous pastel yarns below are a sneaky peek of what I will be making next! I’m already planning my autumnal and winter crochet makes too!
There really isn’t anything quite like accepting a delivery of new yarn! Well, for crochet lovers anyway hehe.

Never thought of crocheting a peg bag. I tend to sew mine. Fun idea to make it into an apron. Reminds me of the little dresses turned into peg bags that used to be all the thing. Your cactus is cute. I’m now going to google craft gravel, because it’s a new one on me. I’m elbow deep in knitting at the moment, so I daren’t even look at crocheting projects, but totally agree about yarn deliveries!
That makes me want to get my crochet hooks out. I haven’t crocheted for quite a long time as I am disabled and it started to really hurt my arms, but I am getting the itchy fingers wanting to try to see if I can manage it again, even something as cute as your cactus could be the perfect trial project to see if my arms can cope again.

I’m reminded of my grandma who always had some crocheting on the go . Everyone in the family had a toilet roll cover made one year for Christmas LOL .
The cactus is so cute! I’d really love to teach myself to crochet. I’ve been knitting some very simple poppies for Remembrance Day (I need to start early as I’m such a slow knitter!) #MMBC

Crochet is one of few crafts I actually can do. Although at the moment I’m scrapbooking
I’m trying lol Real quick to buy the hooks and the wool but have spent weeks just trying to create a square. I can knit but crochet is proving really difficult. won’t give up though
My mum is a big crafty but it never interested me, now my daughter has taken up crochet, knitting and sewing she seems to take more after her Grandma. Crochet is something I would love to try now i’m older and a bit more patient (lol) I really should get a starter kit and give it a go. Love the peg bag btw xx

I’ve never been very crafty. I tried knitting once which was a disaster. The only craft I can do is cross stitch!
