Halloween Maple Leaf Wreath⎪AD

I love doing Halloween crafts with the boys. I think with this year being a total flop, we seem to be making more fuss of occasions such as Fall and Halloween and soon to be Christmas! It just cheers us up and gives us something to look forward to in the midst of uncertainty, don’t you think?

Graphic design gurus Font Bundles invited us to create a spooky door decoration to celebrate Halloween and we of course accepted!

I decided to go with something super easy like a wreath.

What you need

Wreath frame

Leaf lights or just leaves

A4 card

Halloween clipart and spooky fonts!

Glue or double-sided tape

I bought a couple of maple leaf garlands a few years back. I have the one set in a mason jar which I like to turn on at night when we watch TV. The other has been sitting in my crafts supplies doing nothing so I thought this would be a great opportunity to finally put it to use.

I started by wrapping my leaf garland around my frame trying to cover up any part of the frame that was exposed.
Once that was done I chose some Halloween themed clipart from Canva and printed them off onto some A4 card.

You could also add a sign as I did and add some spooky fonts. Font Bundles have some really good freebie fonts to download. Here are just a few that I downloaded.

Spooky – Midnight Show font
Boo! – Unbroken font.
Happy Halloween – The Armory font
Trick or Treat? – Margaret River font
Creepy – Creepy Forest font

The fonts are so easy to download and take just a matter of minutes to land on your PC/Mac. I use Canva a lot and even uploaded some of my new fonts to there so I could use them at a later date.

Back to the wreath!

We secured the scary monster hand and the Halloween props that we printed with some double-sided tape and the wreath was all finished. It literally takes around 20 minutes to make, if that! What I like about this wreath is you can find most of these materials already at home so it’s a really cost-effective craft to make. Even if you do have to buy materials, Hobbycraft have loads of cheap craft supplies just like our paper mache monster hand! The A4 card is really cheap too and starts at just £1 for a pack of 10 sheets.

This is a super easy craft for kids. It will help to develop fine motor skills by cutting out the printables and sticking them into place on the wreath, and they can get as creative as they like by even drawing their own props!

We have already planned to decorate the house and have a party tea for Halloween. You’re right we need to making more fuss after the year we’ve had.

Love the maple leaf lights!! We plan on decorating the house with hand drawn leaves and putting them onto a freestanding wooden tree during half term.

I love the idea of a Halloween wreath . I feel sorry for the children this year as they can’t socialise like they normally do so dressing up the house is a great idea .

We created our own little Halloween grotto for the night with all kind of decs and sweets, it was amazing!

I saw this too late! Absolutely love this idea. I’ve never thought of using a wreath for something other than Christmas. Love the leaves and the autumnal colours!
