I love crafts, especially autumnal ones. Autumn is one of my favourite seasons. I love the fresh crisp air on our morning walks and the beautiful shades of red, orange and gold that bathe the trees around us. It’s a real joy to see.
After making my crochet autumnal bunting last year, I wanted something similar for the table so I conjured up the idea of an autumn garden table centrepiece!

First, I crocheted a little toadstool using a 3mm hook and cotton blend yarn. I filled it with toy stuffing and used my yarn needle to sew the top on. It was a pleasant make that was quick and easy to do.
The oak leaves and small red leaf and pumpkin applique were from my bunting last year. I thought I could re-use them all in my new display.
An autumnal garden is not complete without a cute little hedgehog foraging and preparing for a sleepy hibernation ahead. This little guy (now named Harry) was made with pom-poms. I added some of the boys’ googly eyes, then coloured one black with a permanent marker for his nose.
I used a little picket fenced garden that originally held my Easter display in.
As this will be on our table, I wanted to add some cosy warm lights that I could turn on come night time. I bought these maple leaf battery-powered light some time ago from Amazon. They were super cheap and are actually quite good value! They are brighter than I imagined and give off a nice soft glow.
I am really pleased with how the autumn garden turned out. I didn’t cost me a penny as I used things I already had around the house. Now if only my real life gardens were as low maintenance as this!
