What’s On TV Lately? – January 2022

It’s been a while since I last shared what we’ve been watching and as we’ve watched some corkers lately, I thought I’d pop up another round-up. I don’t know about you, but I love discovering new series and movies to watch so do let me know in the comments what you’ve been watching lately.

TV

Audience with Adele

Loved watching Adele perform at the London Palladium. She looked stunning! And sung her songs beautifully as she always does.
Her nerves must have been on another level with how many A-list celebrities were in the audience, yet she totally smashed it.

Paddy And Christine McGuinness: Our Family And Autism

I was nice to get an insight into another family’s life and what autism means to them. I have learned so much since my youngest was diagnosed as autistic and I could relate to many things that Paddy covered in the programme.
I think it is a fab way to raise awareness and educate others on what living with autism is like.

SKY

Nobody

I was scrolling through Sky cinema and as soon as I saw Bob Odenkirk starring in this movie, I knew it would be a good one!
Bob plays (Hutch Mansell) a dad and husband who is massively underestimated.
After two thieves break into his home, Hutch goes on a rampage to get revenge and ends up in a deadly war against a Russian crime boss.

Cop Shop

Teddy Murretto is a con artist who gets arrested for punching a police officer so he would be protected by his pursuers.
Hitman Bob Viddick (one of the pursuers) also gets incarcerated to get at Teddy. Brawls start and an absolute crazy guy turns up where everything kicks off big time!
If you’re looking for lots of action then this is the one to watch.

Black and Blue

A rookie New Orleans cop witnesses her work colleagues murdering a drug dealer. It leaves police officer Alicia falsely accused of the crime and having to run from the corrupt cops and some pretty nasty gangsters.
This had us on the edge of our seats throughout. I found myself rooting for the police officer hoping she could deliver justice and clear her name.

Netflix

Maid

Alex, a single mother turns to a new career as a house cleaner after she leaves an abusive relationship. She is faced with so many challenges including homelessness, looking out for her bipolar mum all whilst trying to provide and care for her daughter, Maddy.

We really enjoyed watching this short series. It was funny, sad and empowering all rolled into one. Definitely worth a watch.

Stay close

We’ve just finished this series and I was totally hooked throughout.
James Nesbit plays a homicide detective who is trying to get to the bottom of two men going missing. He works alongside his ex-wife DC Erin Cartwright (Jo Joyner, also known for playing Tanya in Eastenders). The storyline is gripping and has loads of twists and turns.

Red Notice

An FBI profiler John Hartley (Dwane Johnson) pursuing the world’s most wanted art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) becomes his reluctant partner in crime to catch an elusive crook who’s always one step ahead.
It was just brilliant! We laughed so much at the many dry humoured comments made between the unlikely duo.
My eldest thought it was hilarious.
