Some churches find themselves with a dwindling flock these days. Increasing attendance and engagement with the church community is a focus of them all. One of the things that can be done is for the church to act more like a brand and attract a lot of people to try to increase attendance.

What that means is that there needs to be a marketing strategy to be able to get the word out about your church. Unfortunately, some churches are a bit old fashioned even though times are modern and require modern solutions. In this article, we will go over several ways to make sure that your church is always full.

1 – Get the right branding

The key thing to remember is that your church should also be a brand. Branding is more important than ever these days. In fact, some people are their own brand such as influencers. A church is really no different when it comes to attracting new parishioners.

The reason is that people have a shorter attention span now. A brand will help your church name become recognizable by rising above the chatter and noise. This means that you need to have a good logo that represents the voice and personality of your particular church.

Once you have a logo, then make sure that those colours and images are the same across all of your promotional materials. Everything from the tithe envelopes to the website header needs to be consistent with the same branding.

2 – Get on social media

Social media is a very powerful tool. Not only will it help you build your brand, but it can effectively get your message out to millions of people potentially. Marketing without social media is nearly impossible these days. It is an integral part of any brand to get the strategy right.

The key thing to remember is that there needs to be a constant and engaging message delivered to the people who are ready to hear it. Think about who the target of your message is and then try to find which social media platform they generally use. Then, craft a message that is sure to resonate with that audience. Posting this message with engaging content will help people recognize your church and look into attending since they like the message.

3 – Use the media

Although digital marketing is the cornerstone of branding these days, there is still a place for traditional marketing with the media. This is especially true for a church that wants to have a local presence.

Make sure to have a public relations kit that can be ready to go to the local news stations and radio. Then, when you have an event planned, you can send the message to them and have them cover it for some fantastic exposure. In fact, some events can be organized specifically so you can have the media cover it and get a lot of new parishioners that didn’t know about you before.
