Nowadays, more and more people are constantly stressed and anxious and feel like they can’t slow down, even if it is only for an hour or two. If you feel like this, here are a few tips you can use today to aid stress management and let you enjoy life that little bit more!
Change Your Environment
Firstly, one of the best and easiest things you can do is change your environment. This doesn’t mean leaving your home; it means turning it into a calm and relaxing paradise.
Light a couple of candles, fill the air with a calming scent, and play peaceful music. Calming down or relaxing with your pod vape in an environment that reflects calm is easy and works very well.
Head Outside
While this sounds cliche, getting fresh air and being one with nature is one of the best ways to de-stress and slow down. This can be anything from a walk in a park, to sitting in your garden and taking in your surroundings.
Make yourself a cup of tea or coffee, leave your phone or laptop indoors, and take 15 or 20 minutes to sit and calm your mind with the sounds of nature around you.
Self-Reflect
One subconscious thing we often do is that we know we are stressed or feeling overwhelmed, but nothing we try is fixing it. To combat this, it is important to take the time to self-reflect and ask yourself what you need.
Think about what you need to fix your current problem or to relax you; sometimes, it isn’t something away from work or a current life problem, for example, making a to-do list.
Breathing Exercises
For a quick stress-buster, there are several different breathing techniques you can employ that will help calm down. These exercises can also be done almost anywhere at any time, making them great for instant stress relief.
Do a Hobby
Hobbies are meant to be activities we do that not only bring us enjoyment, but also calm us down. Whether it be playing tennis or reading, a hobby can take you out of the “real world” for a while and let you reset.
If you are ever feeling stressed and overwhelmed, taking some time to enjoy a hobby you have can be exactly what you need to reset and get back into the swing of things.

Organize Yourself
A great way to slow things down is to become slightly more organized. Feeling overwhelmed is almost always due to having a lot to do, and feeling like you don’t have enough time to do it all.
Instead, make yourself lists; these to-do lists will not only help you see what you need to do, but can also help you plan when to do them.
Exercise
Exercise is another cliche de-stressor, but there is a reason for that. Exercise can melt away stress in no time, and it also releases chemicals in the brain that will allow you to feel happier and more content.
While there is no need to spend hours in the gym every day, doing some form of exercise for 30-60 minutes a day can easily help to clear your mind, and give you the mood boost you need.
Set Boundaries for Yourself
Setting a few personal boundaries can and will make a world of difference when it comes to how stressed you are and how fast and potentially out of control your life may feel. They are also much easier to enforce than you may think.
For example, if your workday ends at 5 pm, don’t feel the need to spend the night on your laptop trying to get ahead for the next day if you don’t have to. Another thing you can do is to simply say “no” to things because you want to take time for yourself and your needs.
Connect with Friends
Another brilliant way to shed stress is to get together with your friends and do something fun. Many of us get stuck in a routine of waking up, working, cooking dinner, going to bed. This leaves no time for yourself and doing things you enjoy.
Doing things with your friends also allows you to get away from work and work-related conversations, and connecting with other people has been shown to drastically improve your mood and lower your stress levels.

Minimize Screen Time
Finally, another well-known way to relax is to minimize your screen time. This is particularly true later in the day, as little to no screen time leading up to bed helps you to fall asleep quicker and give you better quality sleep.
Many of us also associate our phones, tablets, and laptops with being productive, and therefore, you can’t truly relax while using them. Putting them down will give you the disconnect you are looking for.
As you can, de-stressing and slowing down the world around you can be a simple task if you know what to do. Next time you are feeling overwhelmed, remember a few of the tips above, and you will have your mind and mood back under control in no time.
