On our recent stay in East Devon courtesy of Classic Cottages, we enjoyed exploring what some of the local areas have to offer. Devon is such a beautiful place and one we will certainly be returning to. One of our afternoons out took us to Seaton Hole beach on the Jurassic Coast.
We parked just around the corner so we didn’t have to walk all but 2 minutes up the road to get here. The views that meet you as you make your way down to the shore is absolutely beautiful. There is a cafe on site where you can buy refreshments, however, it was closed on our arrival. Probably due to being out of the open season. There are also toilet facilities that are open daily. Isn’t that view just awesome from that picnic bench? I wish that was our back garden!

Once we reached the bottom, we were welcomed by a little cove that we had pretty much all to ourselves. The beach is predominantly shingle with lots of huge pebbles. Jayden absolutely loved sifting through them all in the hope to find some kind of fossil!
Joben, on the other hand, had a little walk but did find it quite hard at times to walk on. He sat with daddy and nanny and enjoyed watching the waves splash against the huge rocks, whilst Jayden and I explored further up the shore.
It is such a beautiful place to kill an hour or two and get some fresh air. Although probably not suitable if you have younger children or anybody with mobility issues as there are a number of steep steps to get down to where we were and with Craig having his condition, he had to take several little breaks on the way back up.

Looks so wonderful here! We found a lovely quiet sandy cove in France a few years ago and enjoyed spending time there!
This beach looks beautiful. I prefer shingle beaches anyway as sand always sticks to everything!

I love Devon, but since we have moved to Wales, near the beach we don’t seem to travel very far as we have 2 rescue dogs.
The Jurassic coast is amazing . Great place for the kids to be out in the fresh air trying to find fossils
