Maker Workshop Book Review

We love nothing more than adding a new book to our ever-growing collection and especially if it is an educational book.
With being a homeschool family, we learn in lots of wonderful and fun ways and mainly hands-on!
Welbeck Publishing have kindly sent us Maker Workshop and it is full of fun projects for us to do.

Jayden loves crafts and pretty much any project that is practical. Maker Workshop is full of fun STEM projects that you can make with things you most probably have lying around at home. We incorporate STEM into a lot of our home ed so Jayden is very familiar with it. The author, Dr Alison Buxton is a maker/educator with over 17 years experience in STEM/STEAM. She founded the STEAM works in 2014 and currently works as a consultant at MakerEd UK and a part-time educator at the University of Sheffield.

The maker Workshop is a fab way to extend learning at home and introduce STEM through making cool creations. The book tells you what tools you will need before you start and what kind of materials you will see being used throughout the projects.
Makers can even follow the process that engineers and designers use when working on a project.

Kids can make bionic bots,  a rubber band boat, a gravity-powered car, a paper plane launcher and loads more!

Jayden has already chosen what he wants to make and we will be digging through Craig’s bits and bobs in the shed for our supplies.

I know we will get so much from this book, not just now but for some time to come.
