I love the Summer months. Having fun outside in the warm weather and enjoying the lighter nights. It just seems like you can get so much more done. I also love having friends around, hanging out in the garden with the bbq cooking away and maybe indulging in a few cheeky drinks! Oh, bliss. Do you like to have get-togethers in the Summer? Then enjoy these easy ways to get your garden ready for that next epic party!
Getting Your Garden Ready For Summer Entertaining
Lights

If your parties are anything like ours and go on through the night, then you may want to invest in some pretty solar lights. It’s surprising how many different options are available now and some are just as powerful as electric sets. I think they look fab as dusk falls and give a really nice ambience for your visitors to enjoy. You could even use battery powered ones and pop them into mason jars for a nice lamp effect.
Furniture
It’s no good hosting a garden party and expecting people to sit on the grass or on that old knackered bench that could do with taking to the local tip, nevermind sitting on it! Why not invest in some modern rattan furniture with some comfy seat pads? There are some great deals on garden furniture sets and styles to suit both big and small gardens.
Gazebo
A gazebo is perfect for get-togethers. It helps provide some shade throughout the day, and can help keep off the chill as the sun goes down. You could use an outdoor rug for the floor and scatter with large pillows for the younger ones to play on. Pop some sparkly lights inside and it will keep them entertained for hours!
Turn Up The Heat!
Sunny days are just the best but you really can start to feel the chill once it goes down. Keep your family and friends toasty warm with a patio heater, chimenea or firepit. If you have younger children around then it might be best to have a parasol heater that is out of reach of curious hands.
Now you are all ready to host the garden party of the century. You just need to plan what cocktails to make!

Love your idea’s the rattan furniture is my list for this year.
Thanks – our garden is waterlogged at the moment after all the recent rain! Cannot wait for the sunshine and warmer weather so I can get preparing!
I think i NEED a gazebo – that way if it rains we’ll still enjoy the outdoors
These are lovely touches to a garden party #MMBC
I can’t wait for summer to get here. We do most of our entertaining outside – I love all your tips! It’s so hard to get thinking about it right now while we’re still below 0 Celsius and having snow most days!

I am looking forward to the warm evenings when we can have a family bbq, have started weeding and preparing the garden and pots, the herbs are doing well but may have to replace a couple.
Nice ideas.
Great ideas….
Every year we think about getting a Gazebo but never get around to it…They are so handy x
The garden in the house we moved into 18 months ago was compeltely overgrown, so in order to get our garden ready for summer entertaining, I need to carry on with the mammoth task of pulling up all the brambles and nettles. I made a start on it last year, and got about 1/3 of the garden done before it got too cold. I have started again and hope to get another 1/3 done this year. It’s not that big a garden, but the brambles are really hard to dig out, so only making slow progress.
I have got to paint the fence and shed again this year!
