I think all parents can relate to how stressful it can get when planning a family holiday. Trying hard not to forget anything and making sure that everything is taken care of before you depart. It is a lot to try and remember! So I have shared my checklist for preparing for a holiday away.
Check Your Passports
Make sure your passports are still valid and not about to expire. Can you imagine the nightmare of opening your passport only days before heading off and finding that it is due to expire?! Prepare these months prior to booking your holiday away.
Travel Insurance
This is one of the first to-do’s for us to tick off our list. With my husband being a heart transplant patient, many firms will charge extortionate rates to cover him. Spending a little time browsing comparison sites will get you the best deals out there and save you a small fortune on your insurance. Click here for a free no obligation quote.
Currency
I have seen so many good reviews of the Post Office travel card. I will definitely be using it when we travel as a family. The prepaid card holds up to 13 different currencies. It is accepted in bars, restaurants and shops that display the MasterCard logo. It saves having to carry lots of cash around and you can top up at any time. Sounds genius to me.
Packing
I like to do a checklist for this, that way I know that there are enough outfits for everyone during the holiday and I won’t forget anything!
I also roll the clothes up rather than folding them flat as you can fit more in and they crease less this way.
Things To Keep The Kids Entertained
Colouring packs are a fab activity for the kids to do whilst travelling. If your kids are tech savvy like mine, then you could download films and offline apps for them to play. That way the kids don’t get bored and you get to keep your sanity.
Essentials
This might be last on this list but it is our priority to sort this before anything else. Craig takes so many meds each day it is quite shocking how much, but, he can’t be without them. We make up his meds for each week and some to spare. Then there is whatever we need for the kids, such as inhalers for the eldest, Calpol and Paracetamol.

Planning in advance is key for us and making sure we have the food for me. We use our visa to get our money and get points as well #mmbc
