Become a door supervisor
Door security course completion is a massive achievement. This is the first step you need to take to get the career you have always wanted in the security industry. However, the hard work is not over yet. In this post, we will reveal what you can expect once you have taken your security training course.
Once you have completed SIA training, you can then start looking for jobs. Your working hours will be completely dependent on the venue in question. If you work at a nightclub or a bar, you can expect to work a lot of evenings and weekend shifts. Part-time work is also very common. You will probably have to wear a uniform, which includes an SIA license that is highly visible, and it is not uncommon for door security personnel to work in noisy venues. Rates of pay will depend on the venue and the location, as well as the experience you have.
As you will have learned in your door supervisor course, there are many tasks you may need to carry out on a daily basis. This includes asking for identification and/or proof of age, dealing with emergencies, and communicating regularly with management and police, and supervising people as they leave the venue. It may also include, escorting people out of the venue, watching people’s behavior, collecting tickets from those coming in, making sure people adhere to the dress code, searching bags, and ensuring queue-jumping does not occur.
Train others
Last but not least, another avenue that you may want to explore is security training. There are different avenues of security training. One of the most obvious is to train others who dream of working in an industry like this. However, you can also provide corporate security training.
Not only is this an option for your main career, but it is something that a lot of people do remotely in their spare time to make more money, so this is something you may want to consider.
