We have discovered some fab family games to play with being part of the Asmodee Blogger Board Game Club. So far this month we’ve played Concept and Crazy Eggz. Our newest discovery is Dice Academy, the fun fast-paced game for all of the family to enjoy.
Dice Academy Age 8+ Years
Dice Academy comes in a neat little box with a magnetic fastening, making it the ideal size to take away on holidays as we did.
Inside the box you get 5 sets of coloured dice and an instructions leaflet. In each coloured set, there is a theme dice and a letter dice.
Whoever decides to go first throws the 5 themed dice. Each player then takes a little time to identify each theme. You can find these on the instructions guide before you play.
Shortly after the letter dice are thrown.
It is then that all players have to try and attempt to pair together as many dice as possible. You create a pair by choosing a word that describes the theme and begins with the letter. So, for instance, the below pair could be Trout. It is not quite that simple though because you cannot create a pair from the same colour.
If you get the match right then you keep those two dice and play continues. If a player should make a mistake when shouting out a match, or the dice are the same colour, then both dice are put back and that player is disqualified until the next round. Play goes on until there are no more possible matches to claim.
Every match is worth one point. I really like that you can set the number of points for a win such as 10 points, 20 points and so on. By having a faster-paced game, it stops younger ones losing interest and keeps them engaged in the gameplay.
Dice Academy brings the whole family together. It’s so funny hearing everyone’s answers, it’s given us so many laughs and I know we will be playing this for some time to come.

New to me. But great to have the opportunity of a variety of games. Especially ones which can be made use of when traveling.
Looks colourful and fun. I like games like this that come in small boxes as storage is easy so they are more likely to be used. Thanks for the review.

Looks like fun, we love to play games on a Saturday night and as the kids get that tiny bit older they want new things! So I will investigate this game, maybe add it to the xmas list!

Sounds like a fun family games. I usually stay away from dice games as they can be quite dull but this one sounds different.
I like the idea that it is a fast game. People do come up with funny answers if they are against the clock. #mmbc
