Pati & Coco sweet dessert

*Disclosure – This is a paid post in partnership with Pati & Coco. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Being a mum is the most rewarding, the most fun, sometimes frustrating and certainly the most challenging thing I have ever done! But you know what, I love my boys to the moon and back and would not change anything for the world, well maybe a little more ‘mum time’ perhaps?

It’s so easy to take a back seat when you have kids isn’t it?!  And as I homeschool and work from home things can get a little hectic, so I’ve been making more of an effort to take some time for me, especially when mum can watch the boys. It makes such a difference to my mindset by being able to shut off for a short while and do something I enjoy.

Here are a few things I do to relax and wind down a little.

Crochet

I was a late learner when it comes to crocheting and I’m so glad I took the time to learn how. I have made so many things since I started. Just like this miniature mitten I made recently for my Christmas tree. It was an unplanned project that only took 10 minutes, but that 10 minutes was my little escapism from a straight hour of invoicing.miniature mitten christmas decoration crochet craft

Indulge Myself

I am most definitely a snacky person and nothing can quite pick me up more than a naughty indulgent treat. I have recently discovered Pati & Coco and let me tell you, these decadent chocolate desserts have won me over! When the boys are busy in the toy room or off with nan, I can kick back, pop open the lid and enjoy any one of these delightful bad boys!
Pati & Coco’s little pots of deliciousness bring together French patisserie and the finest Belgian chocolate.

  • Pistachio & Choc
  • Praline & Choc
  • Ganache & Choc
  • Caramel & Choc

Inside each glass pot, waits a multilayered dessert. I decided to try the Caramel & Choc first.
On inserting my spoon I cracked through the layer of tempered dark chocolate on top. This was followed by patisserie folds of smooth ganache and ending with a crunchy base at the bottom.
Oh, my days, so chocolatey and gooey, it was insane!

After sampling each flavour I would say the Pistachio and choc is my favourite of all.
If you are after a rich sweet treat that is guaranteed to pick you up, then Pati & Coco are certainly worth trying out! They come in packs of two for £3.50 and available at Sainsbury’s.
These are definitely my new go-to for a no guilt, I deserve it! Kind of treat.

Catching Up With TV

My TV remote controlWatching my favourite series or discovering a new box set is another one of my favourite things to do when I get a little me time. I make myself a brew, snuggle under the duvet and own that remote! I get to watch something I enjoy other than Cbeebies or Cartoon Network and can charge my batteries whilst doing so.

So there you have it, just a few things I enjoy when I get some time to myself.

Do you sometimes feel rushed off your feet? What do you like to do when enjoying some ‘you’ time?

  1. We all need a bit of time to ourselves to relax.
I love the sound of those desserts especially the Praline & Choc one. Those are the type of things I will hide from the kids and keep for myself. hehehe x

  2. Oh these sound delicious, I’m definitely going to have to keep an eye out for them. I have a secret bar of galaxys new salted caramel bar hidden on top of my bookcase and I’m planning on sneaky off to enjoy it with a good book once I can get my little monkey off to bed.
