I love having new projects to get stuck into or generally finding something to make and do.
With Monkeys ever changing favourite characters and interests, sees me giving his bedroom a little revamp/update every once in while. He has always been car mad, that has never changed over the years and I think will continue to be a big love of his as he grows older. So I think his car bed will be quite fitting for some time yet.

There are so many lovely Boys bedroom ideas now and so many affordable accessories to choose from, that you don’t have to go over the top on spending, it can look just as nice on a small budget.
I made some racing bunting for his window to fit in with his car bed and now have the material to finish his new curtains off too.

The Ikea bookcase has come in very handy. This used to be in the toyroom downstairs but as we have just finished kitting that out with new storage units, means we had this left over. So I thought I might as well put it to good use in Monkey’s room. We also fitted safety brackets to mount it to the wall, just incase we have a spiderman moment! You can never be too careful.

Monkey has always had a night light for comfort at bedtime, as do most children. So when we got this colour changing bulb from Veezio, for only £10.00, he was very impressed. Not only can he change the colour, but adjust the brightness too, all from his little remote.

And we have the Ikea Aneboda wardrobe which is very spacious inside for Monkeys clothes. I can’t say enough about this wardrobe, I have a pair in our room too. They not only look funky, (you could even light up the inside with leds as they have perspex panels, and only cost £39.99 each. The Malm chest of drawers holds loads of stuff too, and you can choose from a 2 , 3 or 4 drawer. Ours was £49.99. I think all of Ikea’s furniture is well made. It’s the first place we look when thinking of replacing houseware.

Monkey loves his room and it didn’t cost the earth.

Are you giving a room a makeover or thinking of doing so?
What great ideas….That room is just gorgeous!
I want a car bed. I always have….lol I don’t think my fella would agree to it though.
That bunting is so cute!
Hi Jayne, it’s a lovely bedroom for a boy mad lad. The bed is fun, the light is perfect and I like the touch of the bunting over the window (I can’t sew to save my life much to my Mum’s disappointment).
Fastening any cupboard to the wall is a must in a little ones room, as it is all to easy for them to have a Spiderman moment and the consequences just aren’t worth thinking about.
xx
Love the bunting that you made. Looks fab with the racing car bed!
