Being a work from home mum means I rely heavily on technology for my job. Although I am a big fan of pen to paper and live by my to-do lists, I use my Mac, Macbook Pro and my mobile phone throughout my working day. It sounds a little over the top, but I would simply be lost without them all!
My mobile phone probably gets the most usage. I use it to speak with clients or PR agencies to discuss current work campaigns and of course to keep in touch with Craig whilst he is out at work too. I also chat with friends as you do and plan home-ed meetups and so on.
As Craig and I use our phones frequently we like to treat ourselves to a pretty decent one each. We are pretty much team Apple in our house and we know that they don’t come cheap! You get what you pay for is definitely the case here, so we always ensure that we do our research and get the best deal out there at that time.
We always go for contracts. They enable us to update our phones regularly, spread the cost over time and have no hefty upfront fees.

There are several ways you can drop on a good deal when looking for the best mobile phone deals. It could be through good old word of mouth, perhaps a friend has just signed up to a decent deal?
You could use a comparison site, who have loads of deals for a phone with no upfront costs. On occasions you can even bag extras that you wouldn’t get should you have gone direct with the supplier.

A decent model. I think the biggest decision is what mobile you choose. Obviously, if you go cheap and get the basic of basic, then will that see you through your contract? In my opinion, if you’re going to be paying your contract for some time then you may as well get a decent model that will stand the test of time and be more practical with lots more features. I have the iPhone Xs and it does pretty much everything but make a cup of tea! Making it a worthwhile investment for me.
Living out in the countryside means that we have a little more trouble than most when it comes to finding a good network coverage. As a rule, you can check out what the network coverage is like in your area on the provider’s website. I recently went with O2 and it’s serving us very well indeed!
Most importantly, make sure you can afford the payments! It’s so easy to get carried away, especially when there are no upfront costs. Make sure you budget for the long-term and you can’t go wrong.
