We have been busy trying the amazing Almondy Daim dessert this week.

Almondy are a range of frozen Swedish desserts which defrost in as little as 30 minutes making them fantastic in an emergency when you have guests dropping by unexpectedly. The base of the cake is made using a traditional Swedish recipe dating from the 1890s and because it doesn’t use flour it as naturally gluten free, as well as suitable for vegetarians. The topping on the Daim cake combines delicious crunchy caramel pieces smothered in creamy milk chocolate – delicious!
They come as frozen, so we left ours to defrost for around 30 minutes, which was more than ample time for it to thaw out.
This 4oog of awesomeness tastes absolutely delicious. I imagined it to go quite soggy once defrosted but I couldn’t have been more wrong, it’s surprisingly crisp and crunchy. It has two layers of almond base sandwiched between two layers of golden cream and crunchy almond caramel, (yes it not only sounds mouth watering, it is!)
A nice slice of Almondy Daim accompanied with a cuppa and a bit of sunshine is the perfect setting to catch up with work, that’s my excuse anyway.

Almondy Daim is also gluten free and suitable for vegetarians.
There is also Almondy Toblerone which I must try next! You can get yourself one of these beauties for just £3.00 from majority of UK supermarkets.
The lovely people from Almondy have kindly offered one of you lucky readers this fab bundle of joy, worth £30.00! All you have to do is fill out the rafflecopter form below to be in with a chance of winning this lovely prize and you even get an Almondy Daim to scoff to your hearts content 🙂
